BF does not connect to online services, Portal Free-For-All doesn’t load.

Two issues:

2042 consistently doesn’t connect to online services when started. I have to alt-f4 the game and restart it, usually that will connect but even then it doesn’t always work. Been doing this for years, I can’t believe it hasn’t been fixed yet.  

Second, what’s up with the official free-for-all mode in portal? Just sits on the loading screen. Can’t join. All the other modes/servers are fine.
