This software cannot be used at the same time as the game: Interception
What did you expect to happen? The game starts via steam, load EA app with EA AC and then load the game to title screen. What actually happened instead? The game started via steam, loaded the EA app as well as the EA AC but not loading the game. instead the error happened: "This software cannot be used at the same time as the game. Please make sure it's not running, or restart your PC.: Interception" What device/system are you using? Windows 10 PC, launched the game via Steam. Other Information: Checked any app or drivers installed with the name "Interception". None Restarted the PC. No error on startup. Check integrity of the file via Steam. Done, no error. Repair EA AC via the installer. Success Reinstall EA AC via the installer. Success. Again, restarted the PC. No error on startup. The game was tested between each steps. Same error. Some other user on reddit seemed to have the same problem since yesterday. I recently did a windows 10 reinstall.SolvedI don't know if I can secure boot I am stuck(PC)
Ok, I waited a few days before I started looking into secure boot myself. I have seen other peoples' issues trying to get it to work. I have read about them not being able to boot their PC anymore, having take parts out and back in like the MB battery to even get the PC to boot again, they got the secure boot to work but still can't play, and others aren't able to even get secure boot because their hardware is older. I am not really tech savvy. I really just know the parts of the PC and can put it together. I have not done a PC build in 15 years. So this PC I have used for the past 5-6 years was a build from NZXT, and I found that it does not have Secure Boot enabled. So as I started looking into the steps to enabling secure boot. I found out I have the UEFI for BIOS, so I thought that is good. However, I found out that I don't have the TPM on or enabled. And I need 2.0 for this secure boot to work for 2042. So when I checked if I have TPM, that window tells me I don't have a compatible TPM. So as I looked further into the steps on turning on TPM I need to check my manufacturer page to do it. I have no idea what manufacturer page I need to look at to enable the TPM. My motherboard is a Gigabyte Z590 Auorus Elite, processor is an 11th Gen Intel i5-11400F, graphics is MSI Nvidia GeForce 3070 Ti, both SSD are Samsung, and I have a HDD from Western Digital. I don't have DELL, Lenovo, HP, or Asus, anywhere on my PC to my knowledge. The only thing on the list is MSI but that's just for graphics card, and I don't know if that is the option I need to select. I then checked the next steps to see what I would do after enabling the TPM. It said I have to check my windows disks (I'm assuming hard drives), if it is MBR or GPT. And if it isn't the right one, it looks like I would have to change it with command prompts or something. Which I have no idea if I should mess with that or not. Seriously, I am not trying to be difficult or like "woe is me, I can't do it because it is too hard (when it isn't hard)", or "oh, I see change, I'm not going to change". But this stuff is really foreign to me I really don't know a lot about this stuff, and I really don't know how NZXT did all their setups to get my PC working and don't want to undo their work to find out I needed those settings for my PC to work. Plus I don't know if the NZXT cam or my antivirus is seen as malware to the secure boot. I don't know professionals or who to ask to do all this, plus I don't know how much I need to know about this PC to help the professional to understand and do it correctly. IF, I am going to try and figure out the TPM thing, which manufacturer page will I need to look at to enable TPM. Personally, this really bothers me that I can't play this game right now because I honestly enjoy it. Played it since beta, and even pre-ordered the ultimate edition. It's not the best battlefield title, but I find it's really fun. Knowing EA over the many years of playing, this will probably become the norm for their titles requiring Secure boot and it won't change. Because it sounds like secure boot will help mitigate the hacking/cheating. So in the distant future I guess I need to make sure I build my own PC again, or ask the builders to make sure it is secure boot with the TPM enabled. BIG sorry for wall of text. I honestly have no idea how to proceed with secure boot. In the meantime I found I can still play though cloud gaming on game pass ultimate. It's okay, I can play my EA profile, but I don't have access to the battlefield coins I have on my account through this method. I hope you all have a great weekend!SolvedError/Bug - This software cannot be used at the same time as the game
Hello, I'm playing Battlefield 2042 on PC for quite some time without any issue. Last night I have installed the game on my PS5 and played a bit, all was good - but now when I want to play the game on my PC, I face this error (see attached). What should I do to fix this? Now I can play the game only on my PS5 but not on my PC. Thank you!SolvedSOLUTION: How to enable Secure Boot on Gigabyte Motherboard
Enabling Secure Boot on Gigabyte Z590 Motherboard: Complete Guide Secure Boot is an important security feature that ensures your system only boots with trusted software. For Gigabyte Z590 motherboard users, enabling Secure Boot requires several preparatory steps and careful configuration in the BIOS. This comprehensive guide will walk you through the entire process. Prerequisites for Enabling Secure Boot Before enabling Secure Boot on your Gigabyte Z590 motherboard, you need to ensure several system requirements are met: UEFI Mode: Your system must be running in UEFI mode, not Legacy BIOS mode 7 GPT Partition Style: Your boot drive must use GPT (GUID Partition Table) rather than MBR (Master Boot Record) 7 14 Updated BIOS: Ensure you have the latest BIOS version installed for your motherboard 12 TPM 2.0 Enabled: Windows 11 requires TPM 2.0 (though Secure Boot itself doesn't require it) 16 Step 1: Check Current Secure Boot Status Before making any changes, verify your current Secure Boot status: Press Win + R, type msinfo32, and press Enter In System Information, look for: Secure Boot State (should show "Off" initially) BIOS Mode (must say "UEFI") 7 Step 2: Verify Disk Partition Style Secure Boot requires GPT partition style: Press Win + X and select Disk Management Right-click your boot disk > Properties > Volumes tab Check "Partition style" - must be "GUID Partition Table (GPT)" 7 If your disk is MBR, you'll need to convert it to GPT before proceeding. Backup your data first as this process may erase your disk. Step 3: Enter BIOS Setup Restart your computer During startup, repeatedly press the Delete key to enter BIOS 16 Press F2 to switch to Advanced Mode if needed 16 Step 4: Disable Compatibility Support Module (CSM) Secure Boot cannot be enabled while CSM is active: Navigate to the BIOS tab Find CSM Support (may be under Boot options) Set CSM Support to Disabled 7 12 Save changes and exit (F10) Re-enter BIOS to continue configuration 12 Step 5: Enable TPM 2.0 (Optional for Windows 11) For Intel processors on Z590: Navigate to Settings > Miscellaneous or Peripherals Find Intel Platform Trust Technology (PTT) Set to Enabled 16 Save changes (F10) Step 6: Enable Secure Boot Now you can enable Secure Boot: Navigate to the BIOS tab Find Secure Boot option (may be under Security tab) Set Secure Boot to Enabled 7 If prompted about Platform Keys (PK), select Install Default Secure Boot Keys 12 Save changes and exit (F10) Note: Some systems may require you to first set Secure Boot Mode to "Custom", restore factory keys, then switch back to "Standard" mode 14 Step 7: Verify Secure Boot is Active After rebooting: Press Win + R, type msinfo32, and press Enter Check that Secure Boot State now shows "On" 7 14 Troubleshooting Tips If you encounter issues: Black screen on boot: Likely indicates your disk is still MBR - convert to GPT 14 Secure Boot option greyed out: Ensure CSM is completely disabled 12 Error about Platform Keys: Install default Secure Boot keys 12 Windows won't boot: You may need to disable Secure Boot temporarily to access recovery options Important Notes Enabling Secure Boot is not strictly required for Windows 11 installation (the system just needs to support it) 14 Some older operating systems or hardware may not work with Secure Boot enabled Certain games (like Valorant) require Secure Boot for their anti-cheat systems 14 By following these steps carefully, you should successfully enable Secure Boot on your Gigabyte Z590 motherboard, adding an important layer of security to your system.Security Violation: DiscSoftLTD

My issue looked to be caused by Daemon tools lite. This app was added by ASUS and I do not even know what it’s for. When it would load mine would say something about closing software DiskSoftLtd. I was working with Microsoft and ended up resetting my computer finally and deleting the app. When I finally got everything back up EA games had banned me from 2042. I have appealed and the denied me saying I was cheating. I can’t talk to anyone that can help me from ea games and they won’t give me any specific answer on what I did. I am beyond frustrated. My computer going crazy caused this and even with photos of the errors I got and my Microsoft case number they won’t even fix it. I really liked this game and now I can’t play it. Customer service is a joke when they don’t really look into my case just push me off instead of checking. Can anyone give me any help talking to someone at EA that will actually listen and look into my case. Also this did not effect any of the other battlefields I have so I do not know what happened.SolvedBattlefield 2042 DiscSoftLTD
This pops up when I try to play This software cannot be used at the same time as the game. Please make sure it's not running, or restart your PC. (84): DiscSoftLTD I was playing couple days back and now I cant I have tried all the stuff people in other discutions are doing but I have no DiscSoftLTD or rewasd anywhere I never even used that kind of softwareAntivirus Software Causes EA Javelin Anticheat to Eventually Serve Game Bans.
This issue especially affects Battlefield 2042 in terms of visibility, but is a systemic issue affecting Any EA Game that uses EA Javelin Anticheat. Unbeknownst to an end user, using certain antivirus software solutions that have mechanisms to intervene when a malicious webpage is loaded to stop it and block it before it can do harm will just so happen to conflict with EA Anticheat's launching and operating when a game is launched. It will not outright stop EA Anticheat from functioning, but it will cause the service to hang on launch, and intermittently slow down and drop packets during gameplay. It just so happens that the hang on initial launch presents itself as the infinite startup movie bug, where the Battlefield 2042 splash screen and Connecting to Online Services elements do not load, and it is stuck on the startup movie background until the game is closed and launched a second time. The end user will not register that software on its system is interfering. Owing to Battlefield 2042's prior reputation, the user is much more likely to write off the launching issue and repeated packet loss or game stutter that may be associated with it as entirely being the game's fault, or the system hardware's fault. After all, no other games besides Battlefield 2042 or other EA Javelin Anticheat-using titles show any symptoms, so it must be an issue solely with them, so devs need to fix it or are not going to, so bad games remain bad and unstable as seems typical. Right? Well, only partly. Because the end user has not made the connection, it may still play the games, but is less likely to, or continually writes off the symptoms as typical game problems. All the while, EA Anticheat is continually making note of the inability to launch and keep its service running as expected. After about 2 years of playing, or whenever it sees fit, it will proceed to ban that very same player for the background interference and disruption that the player thought was just a game issue on a system with legitimate software and no issues in any other game. Additionally, any attempt to perform Ban Disputes through official means on the basis of it being a false positive will fail in this case, as there was technically an actual piece of software interfering, which in technicality, meets the conditions of violating the EA Safe Play Agreement's clauses on Service Disruptions. Even if a player never knew what caused it to begin with, or that it was a legitimate piece of software. — After being a player who was personally affected by this, and went through some stages of disbelief and grief over it and the prior years of playing and spending in Battlefield 2042 amounting to nothing, A whim of trying something on a whim to see if it did anything finally seemed to show results, solve the initial launch failure/infinite startup movie bug, and finally get Battlefield 2042 to reliably launch the first time, every time. As well as solve my own game ban. The solution, or at least a mitigation end users can do for now? Specifically create an Exception for C:/Program Files/EA/AC/EaAnticheat.GameService.exe (EA Anticheat's Game Service Process) within the antivirus software, but not just any general exception for scanning. It has to specifically be an exception targeting the antivirus software's Online Threat Prevention, or similarly named webpage intervention suite, or else it may or will not work. For an affected user, you will know if it works if the game can now show its splash screen and Connecting to Online Services element consistently. For EA Staff and developers, the EA Anticheat Game Service must either be whitelisted at a company inquiry level with BitDefender and other antivirus software companies (e.g. ESET, Avast, Malwarebytes, or otehrwise), or why it is triggering the Online Threat Prevention mechanism or a hang associated with it in the background must be looked into as a preventative. Undoing any recent Service Disruption Game Bans issued as a result of this matter, including my own, could also be done as a nicety, to get more players back to playing the game and not have it lose them unnecessarily. Regards for the time being. File attachments are to show BitDefender Antivirus Free Edition's enabled Online Threat Prevention mechanisms, and how to create a working exception for it. I have yet to test which exact component of this is causing the issue, but will update the forum post if or when I manage to isolate which feature is interfering with launching the game.Have to always launch the game twice to connect to online services
It seems I have to launch BF2042 twice in order to connect to the online services through the EA Desktop app. First time I launch it, I am in space watching a looping video of satellites. So I close the game and I launch it again. Now BF2042 splash screen appears and I'm now connected to the online services. How can I fix it?This software cannot be used at the same time as the game.: Interception
On 14.05.2025 I got this error when i tried to open BF2042: "This software cannot be used at the same time as the game. Please make sure it's not running, or restart your PC.: Interception" I tried by myself to search for a solution and nothing i tried worked, i talked with EA support and i did all the steps they gave to me and nothing solved the issue. To be mentioned game worked well till that day. on that day something changed and i do not know what. I already did: restart PC and apps, disable all start up apps and restart, enable all start up apps and restart, check files integrity for windows and game, reinstalled the game, reinstalled the anti cheat, deleted the files from C:\ProgramData\Electronic Arts and from C:\ProgramData\Origin restart and checked the game, checked the task manager for Interception app, checked the installed apps for this name or similar apps and nothing, changed the mouse restart and tried again, uninstalled the windows update that were done on 14.05, loaded a windows backup from before that date....nothing solved. If you know what can cause this or what ca I try next I am open for ideas.
