BF2042 checking data error
Message is - WARNING: Your save files are corrupt and could not be read by the game. Continuing will overwrite the corrupt save file. I have contacted EA Help and they said it was a hardware error. Obviously, they did not reference the case file 54907856 that I had opened, and they would have noticed that this error is occurring on two different computers. A Razor Blade 15 running WIN 11 Home, all up to date drivers and patches. and a custom rig running WIN 10 Pro, fresh OS install up to date drivers and patches. Clearly not a hardware issue.
Upon launch the BF REDUX screen launches, goes to black loading screen and then the game minimizes to the taskbar, and I get the pop up. I click on OK and it is locked. I have to go into task manager and end the game.
This is the exact same problem on both devices. As stated the WIN 10 box is a brand new build, completely up to date drivers. On the Razer after the game failed to start I uninstalled the EA app the game and conducted fresh installs. Same result as before.
The only file created in the Documents\BF2042\settings folder is PROFSAVE. None of the other files were created. This is the case for both computers.
This appears to be a problem with my saved data in the BF2042 cloud vice on the devices. BF5 runs fine. BF20142 is unplayable as it will not launch.
