BF2042 connection error

Hi all,

I am getting pretty desperate here so I hope anyone here can help.

So since a couple of weeks I got the following connection error: 1:86001S:660035:4688822970:0B when trying to play the game.

Before we start I would like to highlight that I have done all basic testing concerning internet at my home.

All of these test lead me to believe that there is an issue with the account authentication rather than an internet issue. Let me explain why I believe this:

I tried the following:

- reinstalling the game on PS5

- installing the game on PC

- reinstalling my PS5 completely

- restarting modem

- restarting router

- connecting PS5 to wireless 

- trying hotspot connection as this bypasses my home network

- trying my PS5 on a friends network at a friends house where it still does not work while his BF2042 works fine at his network

- changing DNS settings to the google ones (8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4) 

- port forwarding of all TCP and UDF ports for BF2042 to the PS5

- configuring firewall for BF2042

- disabling firewall all together

As you can see, there is no point in thinking it is network related as I bypassed that multiple times and also it's not PS5/PSN related as the issue occurs on PC as well.

Therefore the issue is at the EA side / account side.

On that side as well I tried changing and resetting my password, so no luck there either.

Furthermore, if I disconnect my router from my ISP's modem and try to connect, the error appears quicker and gives me another error message: 1:86001S:660035:4688822970:761557859B

This is because the issue in my opinion is again related to the account authentication rather than the network.

Can anyone please help?
