BF2042 Crashing to desktop with no error

Whenever I attempt to play with someone on the same network as me (both using a wired ethernet connection) my game will crash to the desktop with no error as soon as a match begins.  I can play on my own just fine, it seems to only be when attempting to play in the same match as someone on the same network as me.  All drivers are up to date, I have verified the game files integrity and tried running as administrator.  Where do I begin to try to fix this?  I also tried attaching the crash dump here but it says unsupported extension type.

  • Update, it crashed while not playing with someone on the same network for the first time so the issue must be with something else.  Can someone help me analyze/share the crash dumps?

  • I currently have over 30gb of free space on my c drive now and it is still crashing.  Reinstalling GPU drivers didn't help either.

@FPSPiers  ok ya did already try a cleanboot and check windows for health issues ?

    SFC - Windows Health Check

Press Windows key + 'R' ,typ CMD
Press and hold down CTRL + SHIFT and press ENTER.
When User Account Control shows up, click Yes.
Use the following command lines, pressing Enter after each
(make sure you wait till each of the commands is executed properly):

    sfc /scannow
    DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /CheckHealth
    DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /ScanHealth
    DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth
    Reboot your system

    Cleanboot / Msconfig

reboot pc by a clean boot:

Hide all Microsoft services, DISABLE (uncheck) ALL other processes, apps and services !

Cleanboot is just a one time clean boot ! Next reboot all will be reset and a normal boot will be occure.
Use msconfig to disable apps permanent each for new reboot.
    - In the search box on the taskbar, type msconfig and select System Configuration from the results.
    - On the Services tab of System Configuration, select Hide all Microsoft services, and then select Disable all.
    - On the Startup tab of System Configuration, select Open Task Manager.
    - Under Startup in Task Manager, for each startup item, select the item and then select Disable.
    - Close Task Manager.
    - On the Startup tab of System Configuration, select OK. When you restart the computer, it's in a clean boot environment.

    cheers
