Application Error 0xc0000005 (Access Violation) error is usually caused by your computer not being able to correctly process the files and settings required to run a particular program or installation. Despite the error showing when you try and use particular pieces of software, it has many different causes including faulty RAM problems, errors with the files of your PC and issues with the settings of your PC.
Have you tried launching the game with Administrator rights?

@BrHo1958, @DiscoStu420, do you maybe know if Windows 11 has recently installed any Windows updates before you started to nice this issue?
You can see this in the Windows update history.
@EA_Leeuw Yes today 15 06 2022 for W11 sys x64 : update (KB5014697) and also Windows Security platform - KB5007651 (version 1.0.2109.27002)... but in fact it s my antivirus TREND MICRO that cause problem...

So it was Trend Micro that caused the issues on your PC and blocked BF2042 from launching completely, which is now fixed?
I've been doing some research and it indeed seems like one of the recent updates of Windows 11 (KB5014019) doesn't really work well with Trend Micro, which causes Trend Micro to block BF2042 from launching as it should.
So my story is I haven't played this game in months. My PC was updated fully to W11 22H2 before I updated BF. I updated BF sometime after its latest patch, a week or two ago and it never worked.
My troubleshooting was mostly done prior to yesterday and KB5014770 update 6/14. The update did not change anything. The other updates are from 5/31 and 5/18 which, I believe are both after the BF patch/me updating the game.The latest updates I installed are.....
