BF2042 doesn't launch...
The game doesn't even launch anymore. If i click to open the game, it starts to launch it normally but in less than 5 seconds it just closes itself before it can even launch correctly. No error messa...
@BrHo1958, @DiscoStu420, do you maybe know if Windows 11 has recently installed any Windows updates before you started to nice this issue?
You can see this in the Windows update history.
So my story is I haven't played this game in months. My PC was updated fully to W11 22H2 before I updated BF. I updated BF sometime after its latest patch, a week or two ago and it never worked.
My troubleshooting was mostly done prior to yesterday and KB5014770 update 6/14. The update did not change anything. The other updates are from 5/31 and 5/18 which, I believe are both after the BF patch/me updating the game.
The latest updates I installed are.....
2022-05 Cumulative Update for .NET Framework 3.5 and 4.8 for Windows 11 for x64 (KB5013628) 5/18
2022-05 Cumulative Update for Windows 11 for x64-based Systems (KB5013943) 5/18
2022-05 Cumulative Update Preview for .NET Framework 3.5 and 4.8 for Windows 11 for x64 (KB5013889) 5/31
2022-05 Cumulative Update for Windows 11 for x64-based Systems (KB5014019) 5/31
Cumulative Update for Windows 11 Insider Preview (10.0.22621.160) (KB5014770) 6/14
Thanks again!

I do not have any 3rd party AV installed. Windows Defender is at default settings.
EDIT: I tried disabling Defender/AV (Realtime + cloud delivered protection, auto sample submission and tamper protection off. Ransome protection is not on. No change. Same behavior.
This is what the Event Viewer says.. Seems like Origin had/has problem and some Qt5Core.dll module.

EDIT2: After deleting, rebooting, DLing and reinstalling Origin. Same issue with BF2042.... Click on play it says LAUNCH->RUINNING->and closes within 2 seconds. The difference now is Origin appears to stay up. Whereas previously (but not all the time) show this error in the log.
Oddly, if I keep hitting "Play" in steam, Origin will 'blip' off the screen and pop back up as if closed and opened again. Windows event viewer doesn't show a failure or error code at all and Origin doesn't really appear to close and reopen (loses focus and then pops back up in focus).
FTR, I ran sfc /scannow and it did not find any integrity violations.
EDIT3: So, it really seems like this is some weird Origin problem with BF2042. When you hit play in Steam, Origin appears to be loading. But before that ever happens, Steam says LAUNCH->RUNNING, running disappears and you can hit play again to repeat the same behavior. Once origin loads, Steam tries to launch the game again (LAUNCH->RUNNING), origin disappears from the screen and pops back up.
Worth noting, that Apex Legend doesn't work either. I just fully updated it and it crashes after the splash screen. i haven't tried any other Origin game... but every other game I play (many as graphic-intensive or more) works just fine. This includes through Battle.net (COD), Epic Games (Fortnite), and several games in Steam (PUBG, PGA 2k21, Super People, Assetto Corsa, AOE, DayZ).
Trying a new NV driver now......................did not work.
