You're indeed not the first player who is mentioning this, a lot of players seem to be running into issues when they have Windows 11. (Myself included, to be honest.)
It seems like Windows 11 has launched an update(s) around the same time as the Season 1 for BF2042 released and now players are running into issues. I, unfortunately, wasn't able to check which update could have blocked the game from working as it should, since I've done a rollback to Win10 shortly after, which solved the issue for me personally.
Do you have Trend Micro antivirus installed by any chance?
