BF2042 Easy AntiCheat stopping game startup with unrecognized game client
following BF2042 update getting "Unknown file version (BF2042.exe) stops game startup. And EasyCheat gives Launch Error of "unrecognized game client. Cannot continue".

Try a game repair "File verification" if that doesn't work repair easy anti cheat.EAC repair process for Steam games.
