BF2042 Freezes for a few seconds EVERY MATCH

As the title says, this has been happening for a year at least.  I've wiped the system, changed out pieces of hardware (SSD, RAM, CPU), wiped caches (game, DX), reduced mouse polling rates, adjust nVidia settings, game settings and nothing seems to help.

Within a few minutes of any conquest match, the game will slow to a halt for a few seconds.  GPU usage will drop to zero.  And then it'll go back to normal.  This is the only game I see this behavior on.  

System:

CPU: Ryzen 9900x3D

GPU: RTX 4080 FE

RAM:  G. Skill 32GB x 2 DDR5 6000MHz CL28

MOBO:  Asus ROG x670E Crosshair Hero

SSDs:  Samsung 9100 Pro PCIe5 4TB, WD Black SN850X 4TB

Lian Li case, fans, 360mm AIO, Windows 11 Pro.

I get it, BF6 is coming out soon and thankfully the beta didn't have this issue.  But ANYONE HAVE THIS SAME PROBLEM AND NO WHAT THE HELL TO DO ABOUT IT?  Thanks!
