removing BF2042.exe compatibility mode to run as admin works for me
Having the same issue. Will not launch. Played yesterday morning and later in the evening failed to launch. Tried absolutely every recommendation to fix the problem.
Removing BF2042.exe did not fix the game either. 2 of my friends on steam have the issue and another 2 can continue to play lol
