BF2042 server connect issue

So I've got my Xbox series x hardwired into my router that's getting me ~900 mbps download. I've got the Google DNS 8.8.8.8 & 8.8.4.4, port 3074, automatic IP address, and I can't get past the starting screen where it connects to the servers. I've reset my modem/router many times, called my IP and had them reset on their end, to no avail.

 Here's the strange thing,

I have 2 routers from 2 different internet providers, one being century link that gets me 10-12mbps, and my new one I just got a month ago from a local company that gets me 900mbps. I can play BF all day on century link but it's glitchy most of the time and makes it unplayable at points. But I can connect to the servers without fail. Once I switch my ethernet cord from the century link router to the new router with the new service, I cant get in. Every single other game works fine in matchmaking on the new service besides battlefield. Any ideas to what the deal is?

Sounds like you are hitting bad routing on the new ISP, I would reach out to them and see if they can help you out. You can use that your other ISP is working. @jrobison6

  • Hey @EA_Atic

I looked through that guide there and I do have my Xbox hardwired to the router, the only game that won't connect to the servers is bf2042. Ive tried just about everything ti get it to work

Again the weird thing is that I currently have 2 different internet providers right now as I just upgraded and were using out the month we paid for on the old one. The old one (century link) works fine with bd2042 and I can join matches easily. Once I disconnect my  ethernet from the century link router, and hardwire it into my new internet provider router (Davis communication) it won't connect. Something with the new IP and your servers doesn't work. I'm not sure how to go about fixing it
