How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Create a BF3 Portal scenario by choosing either Caspian or Noshahr map and add PvP bots, Leave all other settings as default and save and play. Choose to play as Engineer and when you spawn in empty all of your rockets by shooting them and run around asking biots for ammo forever, without success. 100% reproducible.
What happens when the bug occurs? BF3 faction bots will no longer drop ammo crates when player requests them to do so.
What should be happening instead? They should respond to players request by dropping an ammo crate.

So on the 2042 maps the bots drop ammo crates when you ask them for ammo, but in the 2 BF3 maps they seem to ignore such requests and I'm not sure how to refill my rocket ammo during PvE matches, any ideas?

Tanks usually lazer beam me right away so I've never really had to worry about ammo replenish lol.

The bots do drop ammo for you but it will take longer/some effort - I've found slightly higher success when asking bots away from LoS of an enemy combatant; they tend to have tunnel vision.

@TTZ_Dipsy Thanks, but I've tried asking them countless times even when there were no enemy in the area and they just run right past me, over and over again.

The 2042 teams seem to work fine though. BF3 teams seem to be brain dead, for me.

@BigShottt after the class system update, Battlefield 3 faction bots do not drop medic crates or ammo crates. They only repair and sometimes revive. I think this is because the Assault/support class got mixed up after the class revision update and Dice hasn't noticed this yet.

Bad company 2 faction bots do drop medic and ammo crates and they also revive. Because bad company 2 has different classes than Battlefield 3 and was unaffected by the update I think. It also doesn't matter which map you play. Battlefield 2042, Bad company 2 and Battlefield 1942 bots play normally it's just the batlefield3 bots that are a little bugged right now.

@DeBezorgHaas ok this sounds to me like a plausible explanation and matches exactly what I've been seeing in-game.

@ElliotLHI really prefer to leave that process to the CM's, as I feel that should be part of their job description since they do already get paid to scour these forums.

I don't get paid for the time required to submit reports, and I feel that this is my way of helping them, by reporting it here... but I digress.

@BigShottt Since it’s implied this is a glitch, did you consider posting in the bug folder? Might get the right eyeballs on it. I’ve noticed it too and it’s annoying. Don’t forget you can swap kits with dead bots so can always steal their ammo 😉

@BigShottt I'd like to see them put back in all the portal maps along with all the 1942, BC and BF3 vehicles and weapons vs bots with an option to change between 2042, 1942, BC ande BF3 game modes.

@ATFGunr Done, but it's not my job to fill all that out so they owe me now. They can pay me for the assist by please fixing the issue.

...and if they want to thank me extra they can start selling me some Portal map packs with BF3/BF4 remakes :-)
