Black screen and or freeze
I re installed battlefield 2042 July 30th. I'm able to play one match when the match ends I see the ribbon score screen the battle pass score screen then after that it goes to black screen with sound...

This is the exact issue I have been having since the LAST patch.
Black screen after squad screen and joining many many maps freezes on loading.
I have to constantly restart the game to get in.
When playing, no issues, It is only after match and pre match.
They always want to blame us but it was their update that broke it.
I have no overlays, all drivers are updated, game has been verified, reisntalled, no active firewalls, ports all forwarded, antivuris disabled, Win Defender disabled, etc.
I work in damn IT, It is not my computer.
It is your update.
What I DO notice is my disc read is really high before and after so what is the game trying to do between rounds?
@Smoke-Monster-G I just updated my NVIDIA driver and experienced the problem for the first time now. I put 516.94 on. Didn't do this before for me.
Nope, something changed AGAIN.
I was running smoothly for about a week or more and then suddenly tonight it started again.
It is them, not us.If my hardware is stock settings I get a black screen if I overclock my ram I'll get passed the black screen but freeze after 2-3 games. Idk what's to do I've tried everything
- @jrockit77 I may try and instal an old version. Since I was able to play at launch to late December with no black screen or map loading freeze I may go to one of those drivers and see if it works
Downloaded old drivers didn't work. So it's up to EA to fix the problem.
What is every ones CPU? Ive noticed in a couple of shared specs in this thread the i5-6600k has been mentioned.
I have that CPU too and have exactly the same problem since Season One release. Prior to that it ran a dream and now freezes when loading in or out of a map regularly.
Season 2 release hasn't corrected this issue. Very frustrating! I want to love BF2042... I really do!
