Blue Screen of Death after closing BF2042 *FIX HAS BEEN FOUND*
So every time i close BF2042 since the S6 update my PC keeps blue screening causing a LKD_0x141_Tdr:6_IMAGE_nvlddmkm.sys_Ampere_UserOC Crash on my RTX 3080 to crash never happened until after the S6 ...
@dragoonx008 The issue seems to be related to EA anti-cheat across multiple games, not just Battlefield. It can be fixed by going to: Windows Security > Device Security > Core Isolation > Turn on Memory Integrity(Toggle off/on if already on).
If this setting is not visible in the security section, you may have to enable virtualization in your BIOS. I had to do this for my system and the memory integrity setting appeared immediately after. I hope this helps anyone experiencing the same issue and saves you time searching around for a solution!
I have also noticed just trying to shut down the anti cheat service causes the bluescreen. it also sees like most of us posting here if not all of have ASUS motherboards. Bios and all drivers are updated only thing that changed was season 6 and the kernel level anti cheat. There are a lot of people with this problem they are just not all posting here this post is growing as people find it.
I also experience same issue - BSOD with KERNEL_APC_PENDING_DURING_EXIT after trying exit game.
My motherboard is Asrock, but was ASUS ROG software installed. I totally deleted it + all other launchers except Steam and EA, but the problem remains.
@Rokebo73 i have Asus ROG Strix Z390-E last bios for this motherboard was in 2021. I have Amoury crate installed to Control my RGB, I have EVGA x1 installed for my 3080, discord Steam, Corsair, Logitech HUB for my speakers ,my HyperX RGB have controlling RGB,Bitdefender and lastly Razer software for my keyboard headset and webcam
Check youre system, im also want to know if ya all got memory installed thats compatible with youre cpu ?
And memory tests will not always display an error if something is "wrong" with memory (not compatible, not set as dual channel or just faulty).
Do this also, so i can check some hardware from the system ya use:
Press Windows key + 'R' ,typ CMD Press and hold down CTRL + SHIFT and press ENTER. When User Account Control shows up, click Yes. Now enter this command:
wmic /output:C:\mb_mem_bios_info.txt memorychip list full&wmic /append:C:\mb_mem_bios_info.txt baseboard get product, Manufacturer&wmic /append:C:\mb_mem_bios_info.txt bios get smbiosbiosversion
At youre C: drive there is now a file called mb_mem_bios_info.txt post this file please !!! Thanks.
Ps the bolded line is just 1 command, copy and past all !!!
Also download and install MALWAREBYTES ANTI - ROOTKIT , just to check if youre system is booting any other stuff 😉
WARNING - WARNING , if something isnt ok with drivers, youre system could get in a BSOD LOOP.
I had to use SYSTEM RESTORE before i could use my system again.
Also GOOGLE CHROME dint respond anymore after SYSTEM RESTORE !
IMPORTANT - VERIFIER USE AT OWN RISK - NEED TO DO A REFRESH INSTALL IF SYSTEM RESTORE DOESNT FIX ANYTHING !!!! GOT ISSUE AT WINDOWS LATEST INSIDER VERSION CANARY 23570 !!!! Its will probarly work ok at none insider versions
Why is the anti cheat having issues with these files? Now we just need EA to whitelist them or figure out why there anti cheat is crashing when closing. The answer can not be to delete these files as they are how windows interacts with the hardware like the motherboard.
AsIO2.sys is a system file associated with the ASUSTeK Computer Inc. hardware, specifically with the ASUS motherboard. It is part of the ASUS system control interface V2 driver, which is a component of the ASUS system utility software. This file is typically located in the 'C:\Windows\System32\drivers' directory.
The associated software is primarily used for providing an interface between the ASUS hardware (like the motherboard) and the operating system. It helps in managing and controlling the hardware resources, and also assists in the communication between the system's software and hardware. This can include tasks like system monitoring, overclocking, access to BIOS settings, fan control, and more.
AsIO2.sys is needed for the proper functioning of ASUS hardware and software. If you're using an ASUS system, it's recommended to keep this file for the system to work correctly.
@IkonnGiano I made the mistake to delete the AsIO.sys files. Not only did it not fix my game, but Armoury Crate no longer detects my motherboard. Is there any way I can download the files again? My motherboard is Crosshair VIII Hero x570. I tried to get the files from a friend with an asus x570 strix-e and it caused issues. So the files are specific for each motherboard or even configuration.
No, unfortunately not. I only got armoury crate to install the files once I reset my PC. Although, I have a suspicion that you can do it without resetting the PC if you :
1) Disable "install armoury crate" in the bios
2) uninstall armoury crate if it's installed
3) re-enable the armoury crate installation from the bios and pray that you get a pop-up to install it.
When I tried to download it from the MB's download page it didn't get the AsIO.sys files.
In the end at least I got everything working again but I wasted my entire day doing this lol.
@WorlTrance On a different note, After I finished setting everything up after my PC reset, battlefield 2042 refuses to open properly lol. It opens, I go through the "connecting to EA servers" then a black screen with the blue loading thing going, and the game just closes. No error messages. I tried everything from vc++ to directx to ddu. I'm just re-installing the game rn and hoping it'll work.
@xThief16 I was playing BF2024 some months ago, before Season 6 got released. I had that stuck at black screen issue before, but it was very rare. Since Season 6 i get it almost every time plus the BSOD. It just came into my mind that i also got a tool called AI Suite 3 by Asus, which controls the fans and the other performance and power options as in the BIOS. It might be possible it's installing the AsIO.sys as well...
@WorlTrance Oh I forgot to mention that. Yes, you are correct, It is in fact probably AI Suite 3 causing the issues. It's not the first time it's caused me issues. I recently got rid of it (but AsIO.sys stayed as a file) because I found an AWESOME alternative called "Fan Control". Free, open source, it's honestly perfect.
I haven't had issues with AI Suite before. As mentioned, EA Anti Cheat seems to have a problem with it now -_-
