Bug in Season 4 Update - key bindings lost

Like many others, when I downloaded Season 4 it reset my keybinds. Not them all, mind you, only for infantry; the rest remain unaffected, which is a bit weird. To add to the problem I couldn't reset the key bindings; when I tried to select the key I wanted to rebind, hovering over the letter had no effect. I could click on the letter until the cows come home and I wouldn't be able to change the key bind.
HOWEVER
If I move the cursor to the RIGHT of the key bind letter, suddenly the keybind box changes to BOLD, and I CAN now change the desired keybind.
It's one of those really annoying things that I've spent ages trying to resolve, and now I have, I just wanted to share it in case anyone else is experiencing the same issue. It seems the actual selection area that you click is not aligned properly with the graphics on the screen. Boy was that irritating!!! Hope it is helpful to someone!

So today I downloaded Season 4, and jumped into game only to find that for whatever reason, my key bindings for INFANTRY have been reset.
Not for land vehicles, and not for air vehicles either, but ON FOOT KEY BINDINGS HAVE RESET TO DEFAULT!
And what's more annoying, is that when I try to reset them, it wont let me!!! I try to left click my mouse on the key binding, and nothing happens.
With SOME keys, if I click and hold the left mouse button, without moving it, it does respond - and this worked for 3 keys, but not the rest of them!
Does anyone out there have any ideas?

Same here sadly.

It does not take the input to rebind keys. I have had this issue for a long time now, which is why nuking everyones keys is utterly unnacceptable.

The only thing ive found to change keys ( again, thanks for that Dice) is to click the key i want to bind, and then when it comes up, after spamming the rembind icon, I have to hit cancel so it does not bind LMB to everything, and then it sometimes lets me do the re-bind. Its MASSIVELY painful. It takes AGES, and it makes me REALLY wonder why I bother.

Very poor show guys. Really.

Oh, when I say " hit the rebind " button by clicking rapidly. I mean to do that on the icon/key you want to bind. Itl then want to rebind to LMB because of having to spam it. Press esc and try again. Sometimes works.

It also sometimes works to hit the rebind icon in the "mouse category" - the one on the right. It sometimes lets you in that. If it does, cancel it and then try the rebind in the "keyboard" column.

Again, atrocious. Genuinely.

It should still be fixed though.

Check out this old thread of mine from last April, specifically the bit where an EA community manager said this should be the last time this happens. Yeah, OK buddy.

For PC players that have heavily modified keybinds... sorry this only helps if you haven't updated the game and launched it, or if you have backups of your settings...
Before you upgrade Battlefield 2042 to the new update that came out today, make a copy of your PROFSAVE_profile file (Located here by default: C:\Users\<your username>\Documents\Battlefield 2042\settings) as the new update resets keybinds to default

After updating the game, launch the game once and then quit out.
Open your copy of "PROFSAVE_profile" and copy all of the lines that contain "KeyBinding" (Should be, roughly, lines 1 through 2,140)
Paste these copied lines over the lines in the new PROFSAVE_profile file that the game created after launching.
Save changes and launch the game.

I am having the same problem. I cannot load my old documents profile in and it will not let me change the bindings. I am so sick of them messing something up after every updated. It just seems like a waste of time to expect this game to work right after an update.
I was forced to switch to the app. Could that be the problem?

Just did the update and same thing. Why do they have to nuke key bindings , it’s so annoying and to top it off, don’t let you change them back. Excellent work EA.
