I'd recommend using Portal rather than solo/coop as this issue does not occur there to the best of my knowledge. If it is any easier for you, you're welcome to use one of my playlists - absbwj (Conquest Large) or abry3j (Conquest Small).
Just reinstalled Battlefield 2042 after getting a hardware update to run it, and I've run into this issue.
It is also true that on Solo/Co-op, (the only reason I purchased this title), the elevators and other elements, (for instance in one mission where there's an F-35 on display that rotates, or in another where there are machines that move around), you can see that there is a constant hiccup/jitter to them. The movements are skip every second or so. Getting into an elevator, you can see that your camera lags behind it in the same skipping manner until you reach the destination.
This is a major problem.
If you play on portal, let's say standard settings, do you still earn XP, and can you still unlock things?
- ElliotLH2 years agoHero+@Jan_Atreides To answer your question at the end: sort of. So long as you make minimal changes (I just select the maps I want and PVP AI so I have something to shoot at), you can still unlock things. Player and Mastery XP will be capped, though.

Firstly thank you so much for your help and work here. Unfortunately I am not sure I see the problem being fixed, myself, as it seems the problem is tied to an intentional choice which probably saves the developers good money in server hosting, where Solo/Co-op simply gets a lower priority of bandwidth. The older I get, the less interested in highly competitive, sweaty PvP encounters, and I enjoy a good mid-difficulty AI match especially with my friends/family I play with. I know I'm not alone in this either, so if it's eventually fixed, that'd certainly be great, too.
Can I ask, how is the XP capped in Portal matches? Is it daily? Weekly, perhaps? I find it very unfortunate too that if you "raise" the difficulty of the AI from default to intermediate, it restricts XP. That seems silly, as you're making it more, not less, difficult.
Also has there still never been an option to shuffle random maps on the playlist?
- ElliotLH2 years agoHero+@Jan_Atreides I can't remember what the amount is for the player XP cap, but I do know that it's daily. Portal handles weapon mastery XP in the same way as Solo/Coop, where it will count up to a certain point, enough to unlock all the attachments, and then T1 progress will need to be earned in multiplayer.
There are quite a few threads kicking around here about Portal XP limitations so you might find some better info than above in those, too.
I'm not aware of a shuffle or randomiser for Portal, but I could see that kind of feature being helpful for some players.
