Cannot load game past EAC loading screen

When trying to launch the game, the EasyAnti-Cheat splash screen will open and the progress bar fills, but the BF2042 exe never launches. I've tried to reinstall the certificates for both EAC and BF2042, I've tried Uninstalling and Reinstalling BF2042, and I've tried running the Repair utility for EAC to no avail. I've repaired the BF2042 game files as well, and still cannot get past the splash screen for EAC. Clean Boot has also been tried... The really odd part is that everything was working 3-4 days ago when I last played and no updates or any other changes have been made to my machine. Attaching DxDiag file for the lulz. Any help would be greatly appreciated...

  • @Rokebo73 So, after using Revo Uninstaller to uninstall literally everything EA related (including all games) and my VPN client, deleting every bit of EAC on my computer that I could possibly find, and reinstalling everything BUT my VPN client- I've restarted 3 times and the game loads every time. My guess was some old file just straight up didn't uninstall when it was supposed to- whether that be EAC or something else related to EA Desktop- It loads now. I might dabble and reinstall my VPN client tomorrow to see if that makes a difference because I'd rather have that running for other things, but for now it works. I'll update tomorrow after I reinstall the VPN client and test it out with a couple restarts so that we can hopefully close this thing out.

I just used Revo to uninstall literally everything EA related, and uninstalled my VPN service just for good measure- even though it was set to only be used for one service on my PC... Redownloading BF2042 to see how it goes.

Well, unless it was just a corrupted file in the things I uninstalled, it definitely isn't the VPN client that's the issue. Weird thing though- I'm only getting put in European servers and I'm East Coast US? Something I can do about that?

@Rokebo73 Well, I WAS getting put into EU only servers...so I closed the game and relaunched. Now I get nothing but "Unable to load persistence data" lol. Man, it's like non-stop here lately for me.... I tried deleting the Cache and Settings folder in Documents. Anything else I can try or is there potentially something going on with the servers?

@Rokebo73  hey! So I think I narrowed down the issue to being my VPN client. I reinstalled it and everything worked fine UNTIL I restarted my computer. After restart, I was having the same issue with the EAC splash screen. It didn’t matter if I had the VPN client closed and disconnected- it would still affect EAC. I used Revo Uninstall to remove the VPN client and registry keys and voila! All is well again. No idea why all of a sudden it cared if I had a VPN client simply installed to my PC, but that’s gonna be an issue. Anyway- that’s it!

@MassiveFnChungus Glad to hear you solved your problem, I've been trying to solve this problem for over 3 months now, I've tried everything on this forum and nothing has worked, even a clean Windows 11
No support from DICE and EA at all, sent a bunch of reports through the app and no change.(
