Can't download game through EA Desktop and Xbox Games (Unable to install)

Hi, I bought an Xbox Game Pass yesterday. The set also included EA Play for a month running in the EA Desktop application after linking the account. Unfortunately, I am unable to download the Battlefield 2042 10 hour test version. When I try to download it directly from EA Desktop, I get the error:

Unable to install
There was a slight hiccup and we couldn't finish installing Battlefield™ 2042. Restart your PC and try again.

Of course, restarting the PC doesn't change anything. However, there is a change to Xbox Games from yesterday - there was an error marked 0xa3e903ed when I tried to download the game there. Today, after trying to download from Xbox Games, there is no more download attempt by the Xbox application and it immediately takes me to the EA Desktop application, the download starts and the error "Unable to install" is displayed there as above.

I've been thinking about the reason for this error and I have some suspicions - some time ago I placed an order for the Battlefield Gold Edition preorder. Over time, however, I decided to cancel it. On Origin, the game normally disappeared from the library, but EA Desktop still shows everywhere (in the library and in the store) that I have purchased the Gold Edition. Could this be the cause of the error?

  • Edit: I have just successfully started my download via Origin. The trial version of the game appeared in the Origin library after a failed download through EA Desktop, despite the lack of EA Play on Origin.

I will let you know in a moment if I can run the game through both Origin and EA Desktop.

Edit 2: Ok so I installed the game via Origin and luckily it works, the 10 hour trial started normally.

Unfortunately, it looks like the EA Desktop app is buggy and doesn't even detect that I have the game installed. I still have a non-working option to download it there. Cleaning up the local cache didn't help. I also tried reinstalling EA Desktop, that didn't change anything either.

I'll just have to stay with Origin until the new EA launcher starts working properly. Maybe after the premiere of Battlefield something will change and EA Desktop will finally detect that I did not buy it and I want to download it through EA Play PRO.
