Can't get into a game

Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Try matchmaking into an active game
What happens when the bug occurs? I land in an empty lobby and matchmaking eventually times out because no one else is there.
What should be happening instead? I should find active games.

Since last week I have been unable to find and join any game. It's as though no one is playing. I can load the game fine and attempt matchmaking, but I'm always presented with "1/64 players in lobby - 16 required to start". I do have crossplay enabled. I attached a screenshot.

Reporting this as a bug since all the community announcements seem to suggest that last week's issues are resolved and people are playing the game. Is this not true?

@LatchedSeven44, yes, there are two cross-play settings on Xbox, and I believe they can work against each other. There is one in the console settings itself (only on Xbox) and there is one in-game in Battlefield 2042. Since a few patches ago (speaking about months and months ago), the in-game settings should trigger the console setting itself as well. But it's better to double-check this in this situation, I think.

Hey @LatchedSeven44,

Have you tried to play with cross-play off, or disable/enable it a few times to see if that makes any difference?

I believe that Xbox also has a cross-play setting on the console itself, in the Settings if I'm not mistaken, that could potentially be a blockade.

@EA_Leeuw I have tried to play with cross-play off. Same problem. The only cross-play setting I'm familiar with is the one for the console itself which is configured through settings as you note. Is there another cross-play setting somewhere? Like in the game or something?

i'm playing in PC and i have a similar issue. If i get into a match when i open the game i can get into but if i go to other menu and later i search a match, after the load screen the game load takes me to the menu screen again and i have to restart the game to get into any match.

happens right now as well, game is totally FUBAR, maby ur lucky to play a round and then u get kicked out to main and u cant get in again,

@EA_Leeuw Yes, this was the key. Both settings must be on. I was not aware of the in-game setting. Many of the Xbox cross-play troubleshooting steps found online only mention the Xbox specific option.

For others who encounter this issue: Be aware that when you disable the console cross-play option it automatically disables the in-game option as well. BUT, when you reenable the console option it does not automatically reenable the in-game option - you have to do this yourself.

match making is a joke, i have to wait until friends are playing before i can play ad when they leave i'm not able to get a game i go into a empty server
