What is my opinion:
1. It must not be related to Easy Anti-Cheat, because Battlefield V doesn't make use of it and it also stopped working. Apex Legends MAKES USE of Easy Anti-Cheat and it is working perfectly.
2. Both Battlefield 2042 and Battlefield V authenticate through Steam first, and once authenticated, authenticate through the EA App. So, at first, authentication through Steam succeeds, as it proceeds to the next authentication. After the EA authentication screen appears and disappears from the screen, the game simply does not open, after a short time it returns to the application from which it was launched (Steam or EA App).My conclusion: Apex Legends is the only one authenticated exclusively by EA, and it works. Although the two Battlefield games pass through Steam authentication, there must be some problem (on some machines only) in the integration between the two authentications (Steam and EA).
- Rokebo733 years agoSeasoned Ace@FLLSilva i believe EAC from apex (eac_etos i believe) got some issues with eac bf2042 use !
I have seen work arounds to uninstall all anti cheat software (eac , eac_etos or what ever) and only install eac from bf2042.
Delete all leftover folders manualy from those anti cheat software (also check hidden folders)

@Rokebo73 Thanks for helping.
On the first day I detected this problem (on 3/25) I did all these procedures, from uninstalling and completely cleaning the EAC, to uninstalling, completely cleaning and reinstalling both Battlefield 2042 and the EA App and any folder called Origin that I found on disk. And all of that didn't work out.
But I did the removal of the EAC again today, as you said, but nothing changed, I believe that the problem is not with him (at least his LOGs do not record any problems).I am attaching the log files from the attempt to run the game I just made.
I've done all the tests possible, I only have 02 tests left:
- I bought a license for my son two weeks ago. I'm going to ask him to log in with his Steam and EA account on my machine, and then determine if the problem is really with my machine installation or with my account.
- Completely uninstall the game (again), and then have it reinstalled via the EA App (instead of installing via Steam). I don't know how the EA App will behave, if it will install itself or if it will install it through Steam. In the latter case, if the installation is done through Steam, I will have wasted time on this test.
cheers.
