I suggest you attach a DXDIAG report, as someone may spot something.

First check if windows is still ok
Windows Heath check with SFC:
Press Windows key + 'R' ,typ CMD
Press and hold down CTRL + SHIFT and press ENTER.
When User Account Control shows up, click Yes.
Use the following command lines, pressing Enter after each
(make sure you wait till each of the commands is executed properly):

sfc /scannow
DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /CheckHealth
DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /ScanHealth
DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth
Reboot system

EasyAntiCheat

Required for EasyAntiCheat installation.
Install the latest Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributables. Visual Studio 2015, 2017, 2019, and 2022.

Download the X86 and X64 version , open downloaded files and choose INSTALL or REPAIR.


Delete and/or Repair / install EAC
Press the Windows key + 'E' to open File Explorer.
Press ALT key, select Tools > Folder Options > View, then check Show hidden files, folders, and drives.
Navigate to the following location C:\\Program Files(x86)\EasyAntiCheat\ and delete the files:
Delete this file C:\\Program Files(x86)\EasyAntiCheat\EasyAntiCheat.sys
Delete this file C:\\Program Files(x86)\EasyAntiCheat\EasyAntiCheat.exe
Navigate to C:\Users\<USERNAME>\AppData\Roaming
Delete the folder EasyAntiCheat
Navigate to C:\Users\<USERNAME>\AppData\Local\Temp ,and delete ALL content if possible.
Reboot system

If ya got an BF2042 shortcut at youre desktop then right clict on it and select OPEN FILE LOCATION, now
open the folder EasyAntiCheat.
No shortcut at desktop then
Navigate to the following location ?:\....BF2042_INSTALLATION_FOLDER\EasyAntiCheat\
In this folder Right clict at the file EasyAntiCheat_Setup.exe and select to RUN AS ADMINISTARTOR.
Install / repair the EAC
Reboot system

Rename the folder Battlefield 2042 thats in youre Documents folder.
It will make a new folder , this will also reset all ingame settings to default !
(dont worry, original folder is still there is ya renamed it 😉 !!)

Clear EA cache:

Test youre game !
Still some issues ? Then try a cleanboot
Cleanboot / Msconfig

Hide all Microsoft services, DISABLE (uncheck) ALL other processes, apps and services !

Cleanboot is just a one time clean boot ! Next reboot all will be reset and a normal boot will be occure.
Use msconfig to disable apps permanent each for new reboot.
- In the search box on the taskbar, type msconfig and select System Configuration from the results.
- On the Services tab of System Configuration, select Hide all Microsoft services, and then select Disable all.
- On the Startup tab of System Configuration, select Open Task Manager.
- Under Startup in Task Manager, for each startup item, select the item and then select Disable.
- Close Task Manager.
- On the Startup tab of System Configuration, select OK. When you restart the computer, it's in a clean boot environment.
Test game !

@Rokebo73 Ok, was a long 2-1/2 or so hours, unfortunately nothing works. I tried everything you listed and I even rolled back to Origin Launcher to see if that works. Nada. Zilch. Fineto. I would have loved it was something you psoted but nope. Installed BF5 and that works Flawlessly, BF1, works great. Apex runs. Its just this game does not work now. 

could you guys check of there is an EAC_ETOS or something installed ?
I believe it belongs to a other game and that causes issues with the EAC from BF2042

Exactly the same thing is happening to me, i open up the game and it just freezes on the artwork for season 4, it doesnt crash mind you, it doesnt appear as not responding in task manager, jsut freezes and i've tried everything, dirvers,anti cheat repairs, windows health, deleting and downloading the game again, verifying the files on steam, someone on reddit said i should delete the bf2042 file in the documents, still nothing. I hope we find a solution to this 

@Rokebo73 @DarthFDG @ob-Ti69 @starstruck685 so i got the game to run, run in compatibility Windows 8. Thats what fixed the game.... Like im happy i got the game to run, but my god, how silly
