Can't play Retribution - Matchmaking Failed

Im on xbox one.  See photo for error.

I played one game and then was unable to play another, can play breakthrough

After console full reboot, the game tries to load then kicks me to main screen and gives error seen in photo when i try again

    Hi everyone, 

    Because the time-limited Retribution game mode is no longer available, we are closing this thread.

    The general Breakthrough matchmaking error is still being tracked via the other AHQ thread.

    @Psubond I get that in various game modes, with the only option to choose a different play mode and try again later. It’s over a year in and this randomly keeps coming up. Why do we constantly have to keep coming up with fixes and work arounds for a AAA game??

    I haven't checked the error code. But, I bet it's "invalid game state". This is the same issue that happens when you attempt to join a Portal server where a match just ended and its rotating maps. Kludgy design.

    @Psubond 

    I have been having the same issue with Breakthrough occasionally, there are multiple threads about it over in the bug reports and technical issues forums.

    Anyone having any trouble loading into Battle of Nordvik? I have PS4, have tried 3 times and get bounced out evertime, with an error code the 3rd time. All other options work fine

    I played about 3 rounds during my lunch break and I didn't get the error.

    Maybe this is fixed, was actually able to join two rounds in a row tonight.

    @Karen0202 Yes, I was having similar matchmaking issues yesterday. After waiting by playing another game mode I was able to get in.

    Hi all,

    This Breakthrough matchmaking issue is being tracked here.

    Possible workaround: when you get the Matchmaking Failed error, you can queue up for a different game mode > cancel after a few seconds > go back to the Retribution game mode & matchmake > you should be able to find a match.
