Chat is broken, possibly a bug

I'm not sure if this is a bug or not, but from what I can tell it appears to be, but it only seems to be happening to me.

My in-game text chat seems to be completely broken. I cannot see anyone else's chats, whether in global, team, or squad chat. I can send my own chat messages and they appear on my screen but nobody else ever, EVER chats. When global chats were first added, I would see messages regularly in-game, especially at the end of a game where lots of people would say "gg" in global or team chat. It has now been weeks since I have seen a single chat from anyone else, and it seemed to start sometime around the release of the 5.1 or 5.2 update. I find it highly unlikely that everyone suddenly stopped using chat at the same time. I am still able to communicate with squadmates over voice chat.

Has this happened to anyone else? Am I shadowbanned or suspended from chat somehow? There are no suspensions or bans on my account at all. Is there some bug or rogue setting I need to fix? What's going on? Any help or insights would be appreciated.

    Hi @VonMisesStress Not come across this myself from my memory, other than some matches being naturally quieter on chat than others (I don't see as much when I'm playing last gen either). I don't think it'll be ban related and it'll be something else being the cause of the problem.

    What platform do you play on out of interest? Also, I take it you can see the chat box itself, it's more that you can't see any chats?

    I play on PC with cross play enabled. Yes, I can see the chatbox. I can add my own chats and they show up but I NEVER see anyone else chat, and at this point after so much time it simply cannot be that everyone but me has stopped using it. When I send my chats, the chatbox does not stay open for a short time like it used to, instead it hides itself as soon as I send the chats, but when I press Enter again to open it up, my previous chats do show up there.

    I can also confirm that chat is NOT working the box appears a but no chat I can see mine but no one elses.

    Glad to hear I'm not the only one with this issue. Do we know if it's a global issue, or is it only affecting certain players?

    I haven't come across this issue myself, but my friends who play with me are always dealing with not being able to see anyone else in chat just like you.

    I heard someone say before that this occurs if you are in a party but are not the party leader, but I'm not too sure about that. 

    Regardless I can say confidently that you aren't the only person dealing with this and I hope that it gets fixed soon.
