Choppers cant break missile lock on by flying below radar

Product: Battlefield 2042
Platform:Microsoft XBOX One
Please specify your platform model. Microsoft Xbox One
Are you using any software with an overlay? No
Which part of the game is the issue happening in? Multiplayer
Which part of the mode? Conquest
Please select your region Australia
On which server did this happen? NA
When did this happen? (dd.mm.yy hh:mm) 23/09/22
Summarize your bug When people lock onto you with anti air missiles from ground or other airborne vehicles while you are flying a helicopter, you should be able to fly below radar level to break the lock on like all previous BF titles. This is a missing feature in BF2042, can we have it back please?
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Fly a chopper and wait for the lock on warning
What happens when the bug occurs? you can not break the lock on of the incoming missiles by flying below radar level like all previous BF titles.
What should be happening instead? You should be forced to fly low just above ground and in between cover to break the missile lock on. This tests the players flying skill while also adding another element to the air warfare gaming experience.

  • @samboleary below radar isnt implemented in this game unfortunately and they probably never will because of the constant complaints about helicopters being too strong.

@SpudBug I know it's not implemented in this game, however, I think it shpuld be. It brought a completly different skill set to aerial warefare.

It's still easy to take them out with AA vehicles, AA Launcher and Lis guided rocket.

The only difference now compared to previous BF titles is the troop choppers like the Super Hind & Condor. They are the ones doing all the damage and should be left too big to fly below radar. They are also now being taken out a lot easier these days with the likes of Mackay and Sundance being able to grapple or land on top of them and chucking down C5.

Also if the standard choppers could fly below radar to get rid of lock on, then they are also around more to take out the Super Hind and Condor.

They could also improve the zoom and range slightly on AA vehicles like the wildcat which would force pilots to break off an engagement and dive down below radar to evade attack.

So, I don't see adding the flying below radar to break the lock on as a bad thing. I actually think it could improve the game, particularly the aerial combat.

@samboleary Nothing will ever be done to make aerial gameplay survival easier. The ground will always be stronger at this point because the outrage over dying a few times to a helicopter per match is very loud and constant.

really good pilots are still impossible to kill.  at best they can be scared off till their flares recharge.   i for one don't want them to bring back below radar as that will just cause more farming by stealth helicopters (they will stay low if you hack them and they won't even have to run anymore once hacked)
