CPU maxing out at 100% - help?

I have an i7 8700K @ 4.6 GHZ and I am not worried about such a high CPU load (in my case the CPU is loaded from 85÷96% in 128 player mode, and about 70% in 64 player mode ) , it generates me about 120 FPS also the game runs smoothly, but it's nice to know that a 20 threaded CPU also has something to do. Certainly the I9 will give you much more computing power than the I5, but I'll inform you right away that you can sell your current CPU cooler, because the I9 may have more computing power, but it also takes a lot more power, which means it heats up a lot more 🙂 The current Noctua NH-D15 cooling is probably the only heatsink that can cool I9 13900K/KF / I9 14900K/KF type CPUs , 300 WAT of power consumption at maximum load is quite a challenge. Regarding water cooling I will not comment because I do not use them, they are quite a lot more expensive, and the cooling performance is practically the same.

I advise you to read well about the temperatures of the I9 13900 KF/14900KF, so that you do not have a problem with throttling.

Well, and the question is what kind of motherboard you have, whether the cheapest product with a weak power section or a high-end motherboard. What's the use of a top-of-the-line proc if the Motherboard will slow down the entire component to protect itself from overheating, etc.? ?

In my opinion, I7 14700KF will be sufficient, it has 8 PERFORMANCE cores with HT technology (the number of performance cores is most important in games. Efficient-core is more for WINDOWS programs running in the background.

Either way, you won't skip the cooling change, well, unless it can cool the I7 14700KF, which takes 250 WAT max. In games it will probably be a consumption of about 200 Watts.

Check if your motherboard supports Intel's 14th generation of processors, if it does, check to which version you need to update your BIOS, because without a bios update you will not install Intel's 14th generation.

Heavy CPU loading is normal for BF2042 season 6. I don't know if you noticed, EA even blocked the OSD Monitoring MSI Afterburner + RTSS to hide this problem in their game, because who would buy BF2042 knowing that the game will , "strangle" his CPU xd ?

Remember, if you want a strong processor, you need to give it a strong foundation, otherwise it won't work well, and you definitely won't use the potential of your processor (the motherboard won't embrace it 100% xD) or simply the section will overheat (burn up) and you won't have anything xd. I for my I7 8700K bought a Gigabite Z370 Gaming 5 motherboard (top of the line for those days with a very powerful power section). At 160 watts (the i7 8700K at @4.9 GHZ draws 160 watts) the section reaches only 70°C, which is very low for such power consumption.

Also, if you have a strong power supply (about min. 1-1.2 KW) and a decent motherboard then invest in the I9 , if you have a cheap motherboard with a weak power section, then buy the I7, although I suspect that the I7 will already be underutilized 100% by the motherboard. Well, and by mounting an I7 processor to a cheap motherboard with a weak power section you have a much lower risk that the power section on the motherboard will simply burn out.

Why did I list such a high power supply? For a simple reason, a powerful CPU is bought under powerful graphics cards, also I9 14900KF + RTX 4080 = 700 WAT [in max stress] (CPU + GPU alone, I did not include the rest of the components). If you don't want to spend a lot of money on high-end GPU's in the future, then don't buy I9, because you won't use its potential, only slim your wallet.
