    @Rokebo73 Thank you so much for your help. My husband figured it out (we have the exact same PC's and both factory reset at the same time.) NVIDIA GeForce Driver said it was fully updated, however that wasn't true. You had to go to the website and manually install the automatic driver, and after that manually check for the new driver update. It's been resolved and works now. @DJFox1981

@Raethiance_v2 both use origin ? also both did buy bf2042?
both installed game and as soon ya boot game , screen turns black and quit to desktop ? No EASY ANTI CHEAT windows to see ?

@Rokebo73 EA games app & Origin app tried. Both bought bf2042, he has the top teir version and I'm just standard version. Sorry didn't mention, yes Easy anti cheat window does appear first and loads, but the next window--the game one--is the black one and then quits to desktop.

    @Raethiance_v2ok , let do this:
    Press the Windows key + 'E' to open File Explorer.

    EAC
    Navigate to C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\Battlefield 2042\EasyAntiCheat and right click the EasyAntiCheat_Setup.exe and
    select to RUN AS ADMINISTRATOR. In the EasyAntiCheat app select repair to see if EAC is 100% ok !

    ORIGIN
    navigate to C:\\Program Files(x86)\Origin Games\BF2042

    STEAM

    navigate to c:\\Program Files(x86)\Steamapps\common\BF2042

    EA DESKTOP APP
    Navigate to C:\Program Files\EA Games\ BF2042

    Right click the BF2042_launcher.exe (<-- this is the EAC launcher), select properties, select compatibility tab and select RUN THIS PROGRAM AS ADMINISTRATOR , click APPLY , click OK.

    Right click the BF2042.exe (<-- this is the game launcher) , select properties, select compatibility tab and select RUN THIS PROGRAM AS ADMINISTRATOR , click APPLY , click OK.

    @Rokebo73 I re-downloaded the game to my C drive today, it's got 15 mins left. I'll try this as soon as it's up. Thank you! Also to note, I have my task manager up when I launch the game and it stays at 0% CPU.

    @Raethiance_v2 yes if ya see only EAC windows then only eac is running at that moment.
    As soon EAC windows disappear then game will boot.
    Thats why it looks like EAC doesnt start game, could be an eac issue , or need to set , run as administrator those game files. follow instructions and update us.

    @Rokebo73 an error occurs now, immediate pop up with the following:

    "Your game failed to launch.

    An error on our end caused your launch to fail. Try again a little later."

    I did a repair and it still does this.

    @Raethiance_v2 ok still got origin installed ? open origin as admin and start the game via origin

    That folder is empty for some reason. I did download BF2042 on EA's app. It is on the C drive. Am I doing something wrong?

    @Rokebo73 Ok I ran that as administrator, loaded the installation & then ran a repair. That's still the only file in that entire "C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\Battlefield 2042\" folder.

    This time launching did the easy anti cheat window but didn't even get to the blacked out window for BF2042.

    @Raethiance_v2 you did start origin as administrator ?
    Else right click at origin shortcut , click properties , select run as administrator, click aplly , ok ,ok

    Then shut down origin completely , and start orgin again and try to test game !

    @Rokebo73 Done. We are now back to fully going through easy anti cheat and getting the black small window again. Should I uninstall through EA and reinstall through Origin?

    @Raethiance_v2 no , just shutdown ea app completely if ya start by origin
    If ya use ea desktop app, then shutdown origin completely.
    But if ya use ea desktop app, you probarly need to config the game folder location in the app !

    @Rokebo73 I'd like to use Origin at this point. Or throw the game out the window :') EA app is totally off. I appreciate your help with this.

    I don't get why it's sitting here, not yet crashed, on the black window but is at 0% CPU usage for that program. It used to go straight into CPU usage when it loaded properly.

    @Raethiance_v2 do you got any security software running ??
    Virus scanner , firewalls, vpn ?? (home / private network?)
    Its possible you need to whitelist EAC who is installed at location C:\Program Files (x86)\EasyAntiCheat in your virusscanner/firewall/vpn
    (or disable virsuscanner/firewall blablablalbla to test if eac got blocked some how <<<---- !!!!)

    @Rokebo73 I have system mechanic ultimate defense but it's antivirus protection has been off as I've tried these last few things--not sure about a firewall as I haven't intentionally done that? no VPN

    @Raethiance_v2is windows defender still running or does your program disable it ? or any other program that could block eac ?

    @Raethiance_v2 Update your game.
    Launch the game through Origin.
    Update your graphics drivers and Windows.
    Close Unnecessary background tasks.
    Repair the game files.
    Clear cache.
    Troubleshoot in a clean boot state.
