Crazy input delay for ps5 - aiming feels weird

I've been playing this game since release, it has unfortunately being facing very big issues regarding controller gameplay, it had some good faces where it felt super smooth and it was enjoyable. While playing conquest 128p (crossplay always on) the game gives me a crazy input delay, the best way to test this is by trying to do circle movements while aiming down sights, then try to do the same with a controller on PC which has significantly better input and you will notice the difference. ( my pc only runs on 60 so its not even a good pc)

Another way to try it out it so play against AI in ps5, the input there feels almost perfect as well. The issue sadly makes the game unplayable and this is since day one, I've tried every possible setting but there is no fix. I even use the edge controller which is supposedly better regarding input delay etc.  V sync is turned off, ps5 is on performance mode. etc etc. but this happens only with this game, any advice would be appreciated.

My bad, I meant adaptive sync from the Monitor, I heard it influenced input lag.

  • Unfortunately, this has always been a problem for BF2042. I returned to it to get the reward for version 6 after playing the 6 open beta, which has a low-latency mode on the PS5 (which worked perfectly for me). The difference is extremely glaring, and it's horrifying to see how high the latency is and how it puts you at such a disadvantage from PC players. It's very difficult to keep up with aiming in a gunfight when the controller only responds after a while, especially when PC players can turn off V-Sync and activate Nvidia low-latency+boost (and speaking as someone who's played on PC, the advantage on PC is colossal). There's also the problem of only being able to use the controller on consoles, which is unfair simply because crossplay is available.

I believe they could have easily updated the game a long time ago with a V-Sync-free mode, unlocked FPS for VRR, and a lower resolution for higher FPS. But they just ignored this for years and left console players to suffer.

The BF6 beta has all these latency and input issues resolved, which, at least for now, lessens the console's disadvantage over PC. I just hope these options remain, or even improve, in the final version of the game.

henriquefrp01 PS5 performance looks very good indeed! It looks like performance mode disables v-sync and offers really low controller lag.

Variable Refresh Rate (VRR) can be enabled to eliminate screen tearing.

The framerate seems to average around 80fps on PS5.

The only improvement I can think of is if DICE adds an adjustable framerate limiter option in the game settings. Being able to cap the framerate at any number between 60-120fps would make the game play smooth as butter! 🧈
