DirectX DXGI Error Device Removed - Battlefield

Have reasonably new build with just BF 2042 and BF1 installed - no overlays (or anything else for that matter) other than GF Experience.

All has been working fine up until a few weeks ago when BOTH games stopped. I'm not sure if it coincided with a Windows 11 update, a driver update or a game update (2042 updated). Even though BF 1 didnt update I'm now getting the error when playing that game too.

Error happens after about 10 seconds of gameplay in both games.

I've tried:

  • running game as admin
  • rolling back driver (numerious times to different versions back over 10 months)
  • disabling DLSS
  • clear document cache folder
  • cleanboot
  • DDU removed drivers
  • Machine isnt overclocked but ran in Nvidia debuy mode
  • Disabled icue

And nothing fixes the problem. This was a very expensive PC and bought specifically for Battlefield. If I can't play it then its been a total waste of money.

Any help much appreciated

    yes - no fix

did a clean install of win11 and the game and same happens, both 2043 and BF1

    I'm at a complete loss

  • @Akasja Same problem here bro - with Lenovo Legion 5 2060 laptop. Did everything with technical guys, NVIDIA support, and much more knowledgeable people, yet we couldn't fix it and crashed every time. Moreover, I get this crash every other game. Like, some of them crash suddenly without any error and some of them give Unitiy crash(Fortnite), In the end, my hunger for games rises and I feel like s*it. Just yesterday, after calling the technicians of Lenovo, they told me to send the laptop in case of any hardware problem. Ofc this may charge me a lot bcs they suspend the motherboard.
So, how's your PC? Were you able to find any solutions?

Only solution was replacing the card apparently - once i had sent the machine back i was told there was a fault they couldnt diagnose and i needed a new card

not what i wanted to hear!
