DirectX Error Function

My game completely crashes with the DirectX Error message "DirectX function 'GetDeviceRemovedReason' failed with DXGI_ERROR_ACCESS_DENIED ('You tried to use a resource to which you did not have the required access privileges.'), GPU: 'NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 Ti.' Driver: 51694. This error is usually caused by graphics driver crashing; try installing the latest drivers.

I keep getting this message every time but I have done everything I can possibly think of in order to repair my game. I have the latest graphics drivers installed. I've reinstalled the game. I've resetted my whole pc. I don't know what there is to do next.

I had found the error the same day I had posted it. It was DirectX 12 that keeps crashing so I switched back to DirectX 11 and it worked perfectly fine. I have not idea why but anything I have with DirectX 12 always crashes.

  • I've been having the same problem occur - sometimes it happens and sometimes it doesn't. I'm at a loss as well. Wish I could help! ☹️

  • @chngxd I've had this issue for AGES, and I've just tried underclocking my GPU by 300Mhz using MSI Afterburner, and that seemed to fix it for me. It would crash literally every time I opened the game before, and now I've been playing for two days with no issues, and noticeably less stuttering.

I've just got the latest Nvidia driver (516.94). I also turned off Nvidia Reflex and future frame rendering, not sure if that helped or not.

Give it a go, and see if it helps.

In the Graphic settings, it will says DirectX and then the option will be on 12.0. Just change it to 11.0 then restart your game

Hi @chngxd, @ZoKinZoShibo, Battlefield 2042 only supports DirectX 12. You cant change that setting in game and changing that setting in settings files don't change anything.

  • I have a solution to the problem (hopefully). Go to advance setting In windows and change all your virtual memory to 15000. Then what ever game your playing set it too high priority in task manager. And finally switch the direct x version to 11 in graphic setting (I can’t find directx setting in my game but I’ll look it up later)

  • @chngxd Hey bro, how to back to Directx 11?
I've searched on YouTube but can't find how to get back on directx 11
Tell me how to get back on directx 11
