Hello, today I started receiving this error after updating Windows on the computer. BF2042 was working without any problems until yesterday. This error only appears when I try to open BF2042, BF4 and BF1 work without any problems. I deleted the nvidia application and drivers and reinstalled them, in the same way, I deleted and reinstalled BF2042, but I still get the same error. Do you have any solution suggestions?

Here is a solution that worked for me:Go to Advanced System Settings form start menu. On the opened window click Advanced tab. Click on Settings present in the Performance section. Go to Advanced tab and click on Change. Untick the Automatically manage paging file size for all drives. Select the driver where your game is installed and select Custom Size, set initial size and write a value close to your GPU's VRAM. I wrote 7700mb. Finally click apply and reboot your pc.

Thank F! I've been trying everything to sort this too! restore windows, reinstall graphics drivers, repair battlefield - I thought I was going off my nut! Now at last I see a couple of others with this problem. Also my MSFS wont load anymore yet I can Play Zombie Army 4 and Back 4 blood without any problems ....:( It happened after Microsoft updated windows and at the same time Nvidia updated their graphics driver... unfortunately restore didn't sort it either ;(

Strangely the error only occurs in BF2042. Other games run smoothly.

haha, thanks a lot, you are a genius, I got in, thank you very much, but I think this is not a long-term solution when using ssd as a virtual ram, because they will reduce the lifespan, especially ssd lines 512gb or less

Having some of the same issue.
Started thursday 13 feb when windows got updated and a new nvidia driver was available, got worse yesterday. Don't know what got installed first.
Mostly the game closes on start up or when loading a map.
The game gives different types of DirectX errors, or sometimes no error just quits. All other games works fine(haven't tried other EA games tho).
Reinstalled EA app twice,
Installed Battelfield 2042 twice, even on a other drive.
Removed Nvidia app and rolled back previous graphics driver.
Before that i did a couple of game related configuration in nvidia app to like go for perfomance, remove in game overlays etc.
Tried the fix above, but not luck. Instant DirectX error men trying to connect to conquest game.
Conclusion is to look into windows update, so lets see what happens. :S

Just a breif update:
This is what I tired. The second time I started a game it worked, Then it got in to the same error again.
