The game runs great until it doesn't run at all.
I also get the error on a brand new vanilla stock system. Ryzen 7900x and MSI RTX 4080. Changing the terrain to High makes it less frequent, but it still randomly crashes with the “DX Device Hung Error.” It does seem to be more frequent on 128 player Conquest. I played for hours on the 16v16 special event without issue. When I switched to 128 Conquest it crashed within the hour. This is definitely a problem with BF 2042 and the RTX 4080. My system is rock solid except for this error on this game.
Same problem for me. Game runs great untill it hanges with this error.
