@IonizedAndy you could try a cleanboot to see if there is any other software that got issues with other hardware/software.

Now reboot pc by a clean boot:
    https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/topic/how-to-perform-a-clean-boot-in-windows-da2f9573-6eec-00ad-2f8a-a97a1807f3dd
Only microsoft services should be allowed (hide them), all other services and programs need to be disabled (unchecked) !

Also check your windows health with:
Press Windows key + 'R' ,typ CMD
Press and hold down CTRL + SHIFT and press ENTER.
When User Account Control shows up, click Yes.
Use the following command lines, pressing Enter after each
(make sure you wait till each of the commands is executed properly):

    sfc /scannow
    DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /CheckHealth
    DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /ScanHealth
    DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

    update us please!

i tried the clean boot, and after i figured out which services was needed for EA client to even function so i could start the game i ran into a new error on launch,

attached here as it was easier than writing the eror message, anyways old replies on this states it could be resolved by changing the machineguid men feel like thats a bit of a shady solution ? .. https://www.reddit.com/r/Battlefield/comments/qsi1sh/directx_function_pipeline_error/

you have any better suggestions before i tank my registry ? :P ..

that being said trying to launch the game again resulted in the first error in this thread, the "function "res"" one .. so no change there unfortunately
