DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_RESET when alt-tab

Summarize your bug DirectX function "GetDeviceRemoveReason" failed with DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_RESET ("The device failed due to a badly formed command. This is a run-time issue; The application should destroy and recreate the device.")
How often does the bug occur? Always (100%) 
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Tabbing out of the game for any amount of time eventually leads to a dxgi error , whether it is 5 seconds or 2 minutes. 
What happens when the bug occurs? Screen goes black then comes back to normal, game crashes and produces error
What should be happening instead? Game should not crash

I've been playing for about 2 months without any issues until recently (2/3 days ago) when this issue started. The game plays perfectly fine without issues but the moment i alt-tab it can crash, sometimes it happens within 5-10 seconds of alt-tabbing and the time frame isn't consistent but it will always eventually crash if you wait a few minutes. 

-Tried updating graphics drivers and still get error, used DDU too.
-Enabled debug mode in nvidia control panel to stop any oc
-Disabled windows gpu scheduling
-Repairing game
-Reinstalling game
-Running game in dx12 
-Disabled any overlays
-Ran cleanboot
-Ran system file checker, no issues
-Tried deleting cache folder
-Disabled DLSS
-Tried running game in administator mode
-Disabled full screen optimizations
-Compatbility mode for windows8 and 7

-Updated windows
