I've tried every conceivable fix known to man I swear to God. clean boot, repairing EAC and the game, re-installing the game, deleting the sys file, setting everything to run as admin, updating all my drivers, setting EAC to automatic on the windows thing idk. I have an hour and 20 minutes play time from the number of times I've tried fixes and booted for like 15 seconds at a time and nothing. has. workedI'm out of ideas here. if anyone knows something I don't and wants to give it a crack let me know but I'm quickly accepting the fact that I'll just never play this game

here's the Dx diag and screenshot. basically when I start it, it loads up EAC then it'll either open the game in a small window and immediately close or this error pops up. I've repaired and re-installed EAC multiple times and tried deleting the .sys file in the program files(x86) directory. interestingly if I try to repair the EAC from the .EXE in my C drive, 9/10 times it will say 'invalid game number' or something (BF2042 is 609 on my system) and delete it. sometimes it repairs it fine but still comes with the same error when I boot. My leading theory is that it has something to do with the game being on another drive but all my other EAC games or on the same drive and boot with no issue so I'm not sure.

I opened an html file starting with "BF2042_" in this folder (ProgramData is a hidden folder so you'd need to make sure hidden files and folders are visible if you're clicking through):C:\ProgramData\Origin\Logs\ and found errors (highlighted in red) saying:"Failure opening file to save license. Path: C:\ProgramData\Electronic Arts\EA Services\License\193874.dlf"So I went to this folderC:\ProgramData\Electronic Arts\EA Services\Then, right click the License directorySelect Properties > Security > Edit...Scroll down the list under "Group or user names" to find "Users (YourPCName\Users)",Select that and tick Allow for Full Control.And the game finally launched for me.Might not be exactly the same issue for you but you could check one of those log files and see if an error points you to a folder that needs its permissions changed.

@EA_Barry Yeah already tried that with no effect. I don't have anything other than windows defender either

@Rokebo73 I renamed the one in the game directory and it wouldn't run because it couldn't find the EAC file, so then I tried the one in my C drive and it just made a new folder and still has the same problem :/

@Rokebo73 yeah a few. off the top of my head Elden ring and insurgency sandstorm. both are working fine

@stormchild1993 ah ok , i have read before in other topics that people uninstalled all EAC from all games.
Then reinstalled EAC from installation folder bf2042 !
C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\Battlefield 2042\EasyAntiCheat\EasyAntiCheat_Setup.exe
run it as an administartor !

No origfin then its in ea games folder, or in steam...
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Battlefield 2042\EasyAntiCheat\EasyAntiCheat_Setup.exe

check it , let us know !
ps also a other anitcheat , what name looks just a bit like EAC could mess things up ! they uninstalled that anticheat first then reinstalled all, starting with EAC ffrom BF2042

@Rokebo73 ok I uninstalled form all other games using the installer and still just crashes. the error code doesn't come up anymore tho, maybe it's another issue?

you make sure steam is launched as an administartor ?
Maybe set EAC to run as administrator !

@Rokebo73 done that, with no effect. I have it on EA play and that launcher is the bane of my existence so maybe it's something there.
