Easy Anti-Cheat Authentication Fail... Still

I have done everything possible (both EA and EAC help documents) including a clean reinstall. I deleted my BF2040 file from documents (which allowed me to play through the "tutorial") but as soon as I try and load into a solo match vs AI I get to my character select screen for 4 secs and then the spinning teal square of death and failed to authenticate. The game was playable when we had the Origin Launcher, but since the EA Play launcher was released I haven't been able to play at all. My PC far exceeds the requirements. This is a massive failure. I paid for a game I was hoping would bring me back to the BF of old. And now I can't even play it. EA you need an actual fix and not a ton of suggestions that don't work. If the problem is EAC then maybe you need to coordinate with them and find the actual problem or give us back the Origin Launcher.

  • Been through me frustrating experience and lots of loading, reloading etc.  Try downloading the EasyAntiCheat.exe direct from their website, not the EA included version.  Fixe it for me.

  • @xSAPPERxTTV Ya got software running in the background thats not "whitelisted" by eac (yet)

    Do a cleanboot:Cleanboot / Msconfig

reboot pc by a clean boot:
    https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/topic/how-to-perform-a-clean-boot-in-windows-da2f9573-6eec-00ad-2f8a-a97a1807f3dd
Hide all Microsoft services, DISABLE (uncheck) ALL other processes, apps and services !

Cleanboot is just a one time clean boot ! Next reboot all will be reset and a normal boot will be occure.
Use msconfig to disable apps permanent each for new reboot.
    - In the search box on the taskbar, type msconfig and select System Configuration from the results.
    - On the Services tab of System Configuration, select Hide all Microsoft services, and then select Disable all.
    - On the Startup tab of System Configuration, select Open Task Manager.
    - Under Startup in Task Manager, for each startup item, select the item and then select Disable.
    - Close Task Manager.
    - On the Startup tab of System Configuration, select OK. When you restart the computer, it's in a clean boot environment.

test game and update us !
  • Clean Boot, no excess services running, no "unapproved" services (EAC should not be holding honest players hostage).. still no joy...

As stated before I have gone through every post on this and tried every possible help solution. The game is unplayable under EA Play launcher. I had no issues with it under the Origin launcher, none. And now I feel like I wasted my money to buy a game I can no longer play.

And a shortcut to get to Task MGR is CTRL+SHIFT+ESC saves you from having to retype that every time

  • I don't run untrusted software on my PC from unknown sources. Sorry but at this point the game is unplayable and can stay that way until EA/DICE pull their heads out of their third point of contact. I have played BF since the beginning and this has proven to me, they don't care about the customer base, all they want is our money. I will not download or install the software you have "recommended" sorry. What I find most amusing is all the other games I play that use EAC have no issue loading and being playable. This game since launch has been one failure after another with no end in sight. When they fix it, I may return but at this point I'm done.
