Exactly the same issue here. Ethernet connection, super stable, 400-500Mpbs, less than 30 ping, up-to-date GPU drivers and I do not have any issues with any other FPS game. This is 100% an issue with the game itself.
i followed the connectivity troubleshoot guide from EA (very basic stuff there) and I am all good but still having the disconnect time out error with BF2042.
Just in time when I was finally enjoining the game.
More and more people are also reporting the same issue in Reddit too.
i have had this issue it appears to be an problem with the motherboard network card i put anther network in and it has resolved my issue my motherboard was also MSI
