So I had this error, just afterinstalling battlefield 4 as I had not played it in ages.
This started the problem, where I would get booted from BF4, nut not BF2042. Then I updated Punkbuster as the error in BF4 was asscoaited with out of date PB. Then it started to boot me out of BF2042 aswell. BF 2042 is silky smooth on this Razer 16 (2023, 4080) but BF4 ran like trash. So I had no issue with uninstalling BF4. When I did that, the issue with Bf2042 went away. So if you have tried everything else, see if PB is the issue by unistalling it.
