It sounds like something to do with the main menu is causing the game to crash.
Have you tried uninstalling
- Battlefield 2042
- All Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributables
- All Net Frameworks
Reboot the PC and then install Battlefield 2042. The game should install all the Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributables and Net Frameworks need to run the game during the game install.
Take a picture of all the Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributables and Net Frameworks in the Windows uninstall menu before you uninstall them. That way you'll know if any are missing after reinstalling Battlefield. The missing ones might be needed by other Windows apps.
