Over this past week I haven’t been getting zeros at the end of the rounds but what XP I have been awarded seems to be at a greatly reduced rate. It’s almost as if not all of my in-game actions are being counted towards my score. I was consistently scoring around 20k to 30k for an average full game without trying and now my totals are more like 8k-15k per game. Although I’m no longer receiving zero, something still definitely not right with the XP. I am seeing the incoming damage box flip the player names to generic player ID numbers along with high server ALAT times and TN spikes a lot when strange things happen to my score. No packet loss at any time during any of this.
My Season 2 points are still getting stuck just like they did mid Season 1 and the points I earn are not getting added to my totals at the end of the games. The points will stay stuck sometimes for several days then randomly advance a point or two only to get stuck again. I should now be completed with the Season 2 badge but the points are not being awarded.
Here’s an example from a Breakthrough round yesterday. At the end of the round I had the number one squad. I placed 2nd overall on the scoreboard and was number one overall with kills and assists yet as you can see in the screenshot below, I only ended up with 17,805 XP.
I was constantly dropping ammo boxes for my teammates yet I didn’t even receive a single logistic ribbon. I was number one on kills and assists yet only received 2 wingman ribbons. I was constantly throwing proxy balls yet only received 1 intel ribbon, and my overall round actions also seem suspiciously low.
So, my question now is... What exactly is going on with the sever back-end? I think it warrants a closer look.
I had a similar incident today. I played about 40 games on Portal Spotlight SMG Rush today. Every game except one was awarded with zero XP.
Random play in the middle of a gaming session. The sum of XP gained doesn't match the round's score. This is so F**** broken. (ref:PIC)
Every other game today. 0XP.
In previous posts I explained that the XP CAP is broken even for people who don't have the 0 XP bug. The issues that came to light must have been caused by the cumulation of diffrent factors.
The problem is not limited to event handling on the backend side. The must have done some rookie mistake with Overflowing Values.
As they did in the game summary view. (some old screenshot, but nobody fixed it)

2 ^ 16 = 65536. This is max value of unisgned int16 in C++. (values from 0 to 65535)

As I discovered with my Polish friends. The 0 XP problem occurs when you exceed fixed sum of total XP, which is approximately 31 000 000 XP per Season.
I think you nailed it. I checked back through my screenshots and you're correct! I joined a Portal XP server to try and get my Season 2 and XP points unstuck and the below screenshot indeed shows the exact same thing. Be it just an oversight, a formatting routine error, or just poor programming they should be able to patch it fairly quick with this info.

I would not have tagged you unless it was important. I just don’t go randomly tagging EA Community Managers constantly. I understand you guys have your hands full with a lot of unsatisfied players and at the same time have your hands tied by EA management on what can be relayed to the players.
With nothing more than a copy and paste of AHQ guidelines and no explanation as to why, I can only assume that it was a threat of being forum banned if another tag is used in this thread. A thread that you, yourself help consolidated to get this fairly large bug fixed. As a Community Manager a priority task should be to transform your users into a strong community that will support, cheer, boost, and even defend game titles. Sadly, this is not the case when important information like this is presented and is just ignored or deleted. I will not be tagging you again.
The information Tygrvs provided above my post and the fact I was able to 100% repeat it easily and post a verification screenshot is very pertinent to the issue at hand. This 65535-programing default value could very well be the catalyst that triggers the XP point issues for everyone. It needs to be looked at by the DEV team and corrected.
To keep it on-topic; shoot me a DM and I am more than happy to explain what I meant by what I wrote in my previous message.
Back to the topic; as mentioned in my previous replies; the issue has been passed on to the teams to get it investigated. If there are any updates available that I or we can share, we will do that as soon as possible.
@Tygrvs In fact, in the course of two seasons, your programming technology may be the problem. EA may have solved the bug according to the content you provided. Perhaps the bug that lasted for nearly two seasons may have been solved. Although we kept feeding back the bug, we still waited for two seasons and wasted countless time.
Now this is new. Take a look at my screenshot, what's missing? Full XP server, joined in the last 10 minutes of play. No points were awarded for the ribbons I earned and the ribbons graphical boxes didn’t even display in the center of the screen at the end of the round. I left that server and tried to join another game only to get bounced back to the main menu. Joined a different game type in AoW and in that match, everything went back to normal at the end. No packet loss and no LAT problems at any time during these issues.
@EA_AticActually, 2-3 days before the update. It looks like changes have been made to your backend code, because it started working for me and my friends in same day.
XP is earned correctly after each game. But this is still far from being fixed.
1) Fronted - Match summary view isn't showing values greater than 65535. Integer Overflow mentioned in previous posts.
2) Event handling in backend code - Daily 1 500 000 XP CAP and Minute limit 300 (unranked) 10 000 (spotlight / full xp). It is still possible to work around it and gain additional levels in game. (by leaving and rejoining the game)
3) Server program - portal editor custom scripts allowing to bypass XP Cap and Mastery levels. (above 12 on unranked games)
@EA_Atic Otherwise, I would not have mentioned it. I'm gaining XP after each game, but the things below are still broken.
