Game crashes when you try to enter options while driving an helicopter

Crashing accessing ANY options... on foot or in vehicles... happened to me 3 times today. didn't happen yesterday at all. Hasn't been a Microsoft or Battlefield update since update 3 yesterday AM... so possible they are doing stuff on server side? No other explanation. 

... tired of all the instability.
