Played a few hours ago and everyting worked fine.
Now it just freezes and it seemed like a few more I played with hade the same issue...
Mid game just freeze and then restart.
A new "feature" from EA/DICE :-)
We are seeing positive signs that the reported scenarios of freezing for PC players have now been resolved.
As such, this issue is now classed as being closed.
If you keep seeing Freezing issues please post below.

Same date and exact same problem started to happen for me too, i have RX 6600 GPU , R5 5600 CPU , 16GB Ram so sometimes it freezes on loading menu or in game random timing only solution is ALT + F4
I deleted the cache from the 2042 folder and that fixed the freezes/crashes, however I'm still getting stuttering and anytime I'm in a firefight my FPS drop from 130 down to 89-92. It just feels gross to play. One thing no one is talking about is the Windows update. We all updated I'm assuming, and that's a problem because I thought I set my updates to manual...for this reason. It may be the cause, because as others have also said here, that DICE didn't roll out a stealth update overnight and Nvidia drivers aren't the issue. Maybe someone should try rolling back their Windows update and let us know. I may do it myself.
I had this issue too, first i rolled back the nvidia driver but that did not fix it. After removing the latest windows update KB5018410 the issue is resolved, but this is a security update so please fix EA!

Same. Sometimes mine freezes on the map load, and this last time I got in the game, played for 30 seconds, and then it froze completely. On the bright side, there are other games to play, I guess.
Edit: after multiple games, crash start again ! Wait for game update.
All installed latest NVIDIA driver ?
I got the same issue with 522.25 driver.
I made a new clean driver for download available , no advertising or any other software included !!!
Uninstall everything from nvidia , got to settings / apps and uninstall all nvidia ,only leave nvidia controlpanel installed !!
Download this driver 517.48 version

PS I did got crashes now for 2 a 3 days , random times.
Did check ingame settings, replace and delete prosave file , did a repair game, did system restore, reinstalled 522.25 driver, delete alll folders related to bf2042 (not the game it self).
Did set native and normal resolution and Hz in windows desktop settings. Nothing seems to help. I even reinstalled game , did not help.
Uninmstalled Origin and reinstalled. Redownloaded and installed game again.
At last i reinstalled my Windows 11 pro, (new partitions, pre downloaded all drivers) , did not help.
Finally i did read additional info about the 522.25 driver, about the bugs/issues with certain settings/systems , the best way to uninstall and install.
I made a nvclean nvidia driver version of the 517.48 (only display driver in it) and the installed it , still testing no issues so far.
I made also a nvclean nvidia driver version 522.25 wich i will test later !

@SevenSe7en7its the 522.25 driver , causes issues, if ya read additional information at nvidia website when ya download driver, you see this driver got bugs !
