Game keeps crashing

I have an Xbox one series X game is fully updated to the most recent update and it constantly crashes to Home Screen sometimes even a hard crash and shuts off my console. This is f***ing infuriating why is this happening

  • The first thing I'd try is clearing the console cache.

If clearing the cache doesn't work I'd try uninstalling and reinstalling the game.

If that doesn't work then I'd create a backup of Battlefield 2042 save file, then delete the save file on Xbox Cloud and Xbox console storage drive.

The backup is in case you want to restore your game settings. I like to make backups just in case.

How do I delete saves I don’t want?

You can manage your data for individual games through My games & apps on your Home screen. Here's how:

On Home, select My games & apps.

Highlight the game, press the Menu  button on your controller, then select Manage game & add-ons.

Select the Saved data box, then choose the item you want to delete.

To delete Xbox Cloud saves choose "Delete everywhere" option.

So I did the cache clear didn’t work. Played on cloud gaming just to kinda see how it would work. No crashing but game wouldn’t load into rounds 90% of the time and the graphics looked like a PS2 game so just gonna download the game back onto the console now. Hopefully that’ll fix the problem of that doesn’t work just won’t have any FPS to play since cods gone to sh!t and this games on its way with it

  • Another thing you could try is moving the game to an external drive (or internally if you don't have it installed there already). If it works after moving, then it might be some corruption on the harddrive.

It won’t let me put it on an external hard drive tells me that it will let me move it but won’t let me play it. This is **bleep**in bull**bleep** man. I paid for this **bleep**ing game and all this **bleep** does is crash

I've read turning gameplay recording off might help.

To disable automatic gameplay recording on Xbox Series X|S, go to Settings > Captures & broadcasts > Capture settings and change the "record gameplay" setting to "off."
