Update: Removed the cache folder and it was stable for around 2-3 hours, then immediately went back to having the same issue, when i checked the folder, it had roughly 2k items inside it, this is a trend I've noticed with past instances of removing files/folder itself, around 2k items ill start having issues. So it appears to be something wrong with the games way of caching things, any fixes?
I was too optimistic, my problems also came back. I've seen some recommendations for making sure drivers and EA's anticheat software are up to date. For me, they have been but still no luck as far as the game freezing goes.
One thing I saw suggested that I haven't tried yet is to clear cache from the EA app (Top Left Menu > Help > App Recovery) and to run a file repair through EA App. I'm going to try this later and see if it fixes anything

Delete bf2042 / ea and d3d cache.
Bf2042 cache will rebuild during game, it will take +2gb space at youre drive.
Make sure ya got enough free space at your drive (+50gb at least for windows/games ect ect for virtual mem.)
Also be sure ya drive is fast enough, the "old mechanical drives HDD" can be to slow during loading cache.
Beaware , BF2042 is using drive ALL THE TIME to load/save those caches during gaming.Cheers
ps make sure cpu/gpu/mem got enough airflow , to cool it.
Alse SSD / NVME drive can get warm/hot and this will bring read/write spead also down.
Some NVME work better with heat sinks on them.
Also make sure firmware from SSD/NVME drives are uptodate !- 8 months ago
Where is the EA and the d3d cache located? I've got a pretty new pc and don't have overheating issues on any other games but I'll try to monitor Temps
