Game Wants to Use a Controller

Question

So, I just reinstalled BF2042 after a Windows 10 reset, and when I log into the game, my mouse arrow keeps disappearing, and the XBox controller button symbols keep appearing on the screen as if I have one plugged in or connected, which I don't. It basically makes it impossible to play because it's looking for input from the controller. I do have an XBox controller for my PC, but it's not connected in any way.

Is anyone else having this issue?

Maybe have to change something on your BF2042 ingame menu key bindings?

@Its_Travis_199 I would like to, but whenever I try to change a binding, the game freezes. Or at least it locks me out of being able to set the binding.

@SgtMalReynolds&nbsp;what if you actually connect the controller you have.&nbsp;
Can you then change something and is the game working fine?

Yeah I just tried that.&nbsp; My controller only worked so far as getting into the bindings and selecting one, at which point the game got stuck again.
