@Herr_Schlake It looks like it switches to some default slow scope in many cases (when you switch to a handgun and back, or when you use some gadget). It happens to me quite often, but not in 100% of cases.
If magnification does not work, I usually go to the Plus system, pick a different scope and immediately switch back to 12x.
