yeah someone posted it a few months back, I think like last November?
Anyway, the reason it breaks all that stuff is because all that does is basically force the games render window to use windows legacy method for presenting content, hence legacy ICC profile.
And so when you do that, since it's an old method it doesn't have the new features.
If you don't believe me (and have a monitor with vrr) turn on your monitors refresh rate display and play the game. You'll see it's static, meaning vrr is not enabled.
Gotcha. Thanks for the example. It's a good thing I don't use gysnc. I have it turned off due to helldivers 2 and pubg making my screen flash with it on. And tbh I don't need it at all. Plus I only game in Fullscreen. So it seems likes this fix is better than nothing for at least bf2042 goes. Only game I've had hdr issues with. I know dice will never fix this issue "obviously after almost a year" so I'll have to do what I have to do to be able to enjoy the game again. Even if that requires loosing features I don't even use then so be it.

And don't install icc profiles for sdr game have problem to send this info to windows and choose sdr icc profile instead hdr 😉
- 12 months ago@ZjemCiKolege Does not work.
Worked fine on windows 10 but upgraded to 11 and now HDR doesn't work anymore in this game. Ffs. - Jdizzlefosizzle12 months agoRising Rookie
I use rtx hdr now on 99.9% of my games I play. In bf2042 it's the only fix for it and looks better than it did when it used to work before dice f'ed it up like they are known for. The lazy woke idiots at dice are to worried about their precious little pronouns or deciding on what gender they want to pretend to be to every day to actual work in a fix for hdr.
