I broke 2042 trying to disable "Console" key in notepad: please help! :(

Hello .. the error should be attached in file / picture. Here is the error in text:

Warning: your save file(s) are corrupt and could not be read by the game. Continuing will overwrite the corrupt save file.


Explanation / Short:
- I broke my 2042 trying to disable console key bind option in the ' prosave ' file (I'll explain further below in the longer version / explanation)

So far:
1. Repairing the game does not fix it.
2. Uninstalling & then Deleting the 2042 file(s) in:   C / Users / Name / Documents / Battlefield 2042  .. then re-installing does not fiix the issue.
3. Clearing EA APP Cache did not fix the issue ( Just tried that in case )


Reason for disabling the console button/key bind:
- I find with my fingers, and playing breakthrough rushing around playing fast, I Sometimes slip pressing " 1 " and hit console key instead. You can see now why I want to disable console, pressing the console / `  key is pretty much suicide mid-fight as after you press it it start typing stuff in the entry ...  (Whatever you're pressing obviously)

So the long explanation as to how I Broke my 2042:
1.  I googled how to disable the console key in 2042 and found this post. I did not follow the directions perfectly because I wasn't familiar with the program notepad++

I Really feel there should just be a simple option in the game itself, in the options " Disable or Enable Console: yes / no "  .. something like that.

Going on:

So what I did that broke my 2042 is I opened the prosave profile file, I couldn't find the " enableconsole " in there, so I then opened the other " Prosave " File, not Prosave-profile, the other one just prosave. I opened it in regular notepad (Because I'm a noob / idiot with this) - Then I did cntrl+f  .. found the ' 1 ' for enableconsole and changed it to a ' 0 '  

You're supposed to- I think open it with notepad++   .. then edit the number(s) to 0

There's comments on the steam page, one guy said he couldn't find it ("enableconsole") in the prosave-profile but did find it in the regular prosave that's why I did it that way, the issue is you need to do it with notepad++   ... note regular notepad. That's just how the file works, and only works with that program I guess. 

I since got the official notepad++ on my PC downloaded / installed.

I uninstalled the game like I said and deleted the 2042 documents file, re-installed and still have the error.


All this issue trying to just disable the console key.


please help.
I Don't know what to do now.

- I may have found a simple fix, here on the forums looking through peoples posts and replies similar problems, I will test this fix, and add info also in reply.

UPDATE 2:
I have successfully fixed my 2042 (for now?)  - I Found in another post, the person said they fiixed the error by spam-clicking the ok button until the game loaded properly. =

What I did to get through the error is click spam that OK, the game might keep going and then the error may appear again, keep clicking ok, try to click desktop background back and forth to the OK button on the client / error, this fixed it for me .. Remember SPAM OK button haha...

Stand by.. I'm nervous to try the Notepad++ console edit thing, but I will try this time with notepad++ 
 - I Don't want or need to use console and it f's me up when I'm playing. oh, and by the way before I Deleted my old unchanged prosave-profile I backed it up so I can keep all my keybinds / settings etc, it worked when I re-added it after starting up the game again fully, so there's a PLUS.

DEV's please add a disable console key option.

UPDATE #3 - FINAL UPDATE -
I have successfully fixed my own BF 2042 and disabled console via NOTEPAD++

Please, if you do this it's at your own risk editing a file to simply disable the console. I Don't think you're supposed to highlight and / or drag anything in notepad++ 
- this will mess things up likely severely. be careful what you do. 
- I went in a bit clueless so take this advice now:

when you open up the file prosave in NOTEPAD++ and cntrl+f to the name "enableconsole" to find it, it will look something like this, or at least it looks this way on my end:

enableconsole [NUL][STX][NUL][NUL][NUL]1

Click where the 1 is, to the right of it, back space / delete then press 0    
it should now look like this: enableconsole [NUL][STX][NUL][NUL][NUL]0

Don't forget to save.

I hope this helps someone & everyone on PC who is tired of the console key / button messing their fun up.

I'm going to mark my self as a solution this was crazy and difficult for me. .. but I did it myself and with the help of the other thread / posts reply / person.


Don't f- around with the notepad++ type files, in other regular notepad program or you'll end up where I was.
