Insta-Deaths Damage does not equal 100

Summarize your bug I am instantly killed when engaged by an enemy player and the damage log never equals 100. See attached. I was one-shot by a G428 non-headshot and was killed with no prior damage. 90% of my deaths are like this.
How often does the bug occur? Often (50% - 99%)

What happens when the bug occurs? I die without taking 100 damage
What should be happening instead? I should not be dead if I didn't take 100 damage

Ok, this has been happening since launch but ever since Season 6 dropped, almost all my deaths are non-100% deaths. I get killed without taking full damage. 

See pic below, I was one shot by a G428, non-headshot for 60 damage, but died instantly from that shot. This happens all the time now regardless of weapon used. With high RoF weapons, the shots come in bundled and I die instantly and not over multiple shots.  

What is this? Some kind of netcode or lag comp?

  • I have like 50+ more screenshots with my death equalling as little as 20 damage total in the damage log. Sometimes there is only a single entry and it is less than 100%. Other times the totals of the hits is less than 100. Majority of the time, I am insta-killed. 

    Is anyone else experiencing deaths like this? No packet loss, yet some of my client hits do not register at the server. Something weird is going on.

  • Here is a mix tape compilation (open image in new tab), 7 damage log pics, death damage ranging from 16 to 90. Mostly shotguns, G428 a lot as well. 95% console players. 

    Also, in some of these, I have a ton of missed hits at the server without PL. 31/38?  37/44?  More times than not, when I die like this, I also experience missed server hits. 

    There are times where the player that killed me doesn't even show up in the damage log. 

    If this is just bad netcode?

  • After Tuesday's update, this condition is worse somehow. If I use the AM40, half my shots don't register as client hits, and even when they do, some of those don't register at the server. I need an entire clip to kill anyone.


    This is also worse when there is a mix of bots and players. 

    It feels like the gameplay is being manipulated server side.

  • Now a 7 dmg death when I am 100%.


    What the hell is going on? God forbid other users turn on the damage log and see how most of their deaths are not even occurring with 100% dmg. Rapid Strike is a hot mess. Any implementation of a previous BF, like BF3 is terrible. It plays like a knock off version of the original. The quality is so poor. 


    How could one team ruin an entirely new title while also reducing the quality of previous titles? This is unprecedented, but keep patting yourselves on the back for player counts lower than half the Indie games on Steam. 

  • Summary for devs:

    I have a good ping most of the time, under 30ms for LAT, no Packet Loss was observed, TN does sometimes exceed LAT which is concerning. ALAT is always higher than LAT, between 40-90 traditionally. 

    A. Enemy killing me/damage to me:

    1. Enemy damage does not register on the damage log and a lot of my deaths do not equal 100 on damage log. 

    2. The Enemy that killed me does not show on the damage log at all, but I die from them, listed in kill log at top of screen, kill cam follows them afterwards, but no entry in damage log

    3. It feels like enemy hits are being bundled, where I die instantly with audio that sounds like all the shots came in bunch (think K30 RoF but for all weapons). 

    4. High RoF weapons and 1SK weapons are the worst (shotguns, MM Rifles, High RoF SMGs, LMGs, and ARs)

    5. The extension of this is getting killed way behind cover, sometimes 10 meters behind a wall or structure.

    B. Me killing/shoot at enemy:

    1. On the other side, up to 25% of my client hits do not register at the server, so it takes me an entire clip to kill one player.

    2. The higher the RoF the more server misses there are on the log.

    3. This makes the TTK and TTD seem way off as I am shooting rubber bullets and no matter what weapon they have, I die almost instantly.

  • This happening me in almost 95% deaths in each round. My lowest damage/hit from deathlog is 1 hit and 2 dmg only.

    Or frustrated is if you hit enemy 5x for 22 dmg and enemy hit you only 3x for 22 dmg and you die. Alt + F4 most popular exit in this game because is here too many cut scenes where you can't do anything. Its like on console. PC version is extremely limited.

  • I always thought I was just going mad, and probably just a skill issue, but after reading this.. I'm concerned(though, not surprised) since it hasn't received any recognition from EA.
