Howdy Folks,
Game won't launch, error 104, says ReWASD is running at the same time. No it is not. I've uninstalled the program.
I've tried
- Stopping the program
- Force quitting the services associated with it
- Uninstalling with Revo
- Searching services.msc for leftover services
- The EA suggested clean boot
- Deleting steam download cache
- Reinstalling the game several times
- Deleting temp files
- Verifying file integrity. Always replaces three files but does not solve issue
- Repairing EA Anti-cheat
- Asking steam for a refund. Also didn't work.
At this point my hail Mary is installing a fresh copy of windows on a new drive just to see if it works. That's not really a solution, though.
Any suggestions beyond that would be appreciated. Thanks!
Updating to say that these things also don't work
- Reinstalling Anti-cheat
- Updating graphics drivers
- Reinstalling windows while keeping the files.
I am pretty much certain the only thing that would work now is a complete fresh install but, you know, it begs the question as to whether this game is actually good enough to necessitate this much work. I can never get back my wasted money but I could at least stop wasting my time.
PS. EA hasn't even updated their support team with information on their in-house anti-cheat. As far as any of their advisors are aware, they're still using Easy Anti-cheat on BF2042, which hasn't been the case for over a year. I wish to god they were because that software actually functions.
@TheGoodKingLuc its possible REWASD (joytokey ect ect) processes keep running/installed at youre system.
Check in Taskmanager if ya can find any of these processes (running).
Cheersps a cleanboot will help ya, disable all processes (not the microsoft processes and EA background + ea ac)
Thanks for the reply! Unfortunately I had already tired each of those suggestions per my original post. I still don't know what the problem is, but I'm successfully running the game on a different windows install now. It is what it is, I guess.
